Superb start, set up, that lets you feel this is going to a cracker.. but.. oh dear, I'm saying this too frequently for these Brit B&W b's... becomes slower and ends poorly. Still, it's only just over an hour, worth a watch on a dull day when it next crops up on TPTV

Starts very well, very good indeed, but the introduction of a 'comic relief' lovable rogue starts a down hill move that leaves the end...
And two 'silly women' who scream in tandem at any mild bump in the night don't help

Can someone clarify please?

Are Thorkell's links the valid for tick film? It feels more like a film about the film, but , (as suggested on other comments), the actual footage is very short, and (if you follow the IMDb link, it is supposed to be a documentary about the strike / massacre, not just newsreel footage..

I'm claiming it for now, but accept correction...

Longer than it is stated, but English subs... And you get to see Trotsky before Stalin's scissors got to work..

A delight... for war time film, magnificently quirky,, somewhat tongue-in-cheek little film that deserves more attention than it has. As of may 2020, it's no lists at all, let alone any official ones.

OK, I couldn't get the English subs, and not sure I followed all that was going on, but an animation with King Ghidorah.. I'll claim the tick for now.

For the first half hour or so, 10/10... but by the end ... a disappointment. Rather too many plot holes, but worth a watch.

So THAT's where the idea for a Two Ronnies sketch came from....

I used Monty's link (thank you).. but it was only around 5 mins... I will entertain any challenge to the validity of my tick if someone can offer a 7 min version..

A chilling, disturbing and scary Kafkaesque story (allegedly based on a true story). Astonished it is not on any lists

Shown on British TV as part of the VE week in 2020 at about 10 mins... I'm claiming this for now 'till corrected..

This ... gem .. cropped up on (UK) tv, on 'Talking pictures at some obscure time of the morning in May 2020.. The chances are that it will be on again.. Look out for it, it's well worth a look.

Regrettably, despite initial promise, never quite manages to take off and fully engage.

I guess a big plus of becoming a big name director, and beloved by the art house side of cinema, is you get to put your family home movies out there and everyone goes 'wow, that's a beautiful evocation of family' or something.
OK, it's nice, for a bit. I would love to become that guy.. but it's far to personal, and has a feel of ... shown how we want it to be seen. So all the beautiful flower people gather round him.. but, hang on, is it TOO coincidental that they are all god looking, healthy, young? Like straight from some idealised fictional film of Woodstock?
So either the 'not so good looking' ones were turned away that day, for filmic aesthetics ..... or he only picks good looking 'hippy chicks' to join his in crowd.. and now it starts to sound a bit weird, cultist.

... I couldn't find subtitles, but it's pretty easy to follow, it's essentially a Brazilian take on 'there was an old lady who swallowed a fly'
