many people here are raving about this movie. i personally don't agree that this is the "greatest" or "golden". but it is a fine film with excellent cast, great directing and a nice noir feel giving the excellent plot a good lift making it memorable
very nice film for a one-time watch. a good take on how society and its rules and morals break down and release the carnage once the pressure doors break. amazing performances by all involved. i was especially amused by how alan was broken. was wondering how it would happen when it was staring at me the whole time. funny and great acting and i give it 4/5
icheckmovies needs to make an award specifically for people who sat through this. dull, utterly boring i actually slept at one point and had to watch it again the next day. if this was meant to convey some meaning or philosophical message, it was lost somewhere in the overly long 2:30 hours that this film tries its best to fill with breathtaking albeit meaningless visuals in the first half, and more meaningless whispered drivel and random shots of random scenes in a random person's life.
and for the life of me i don't know what sean penn's role was in this thing. i do NOT recommend to anyone but pretentious film buffs. what a waste of money and time. how did the people at cannes sit through this in the theatre? i couldn't stand it at home!

Fincher totally nailed the atmosphere of the book and has successfully created 2 characters that all fans will want to follow in the sequels. Also I cannot complement Rooney Mara enough on her excellent and thrilling performance.
obnoxious little kid fighting against an obnoxious woman who owns a giant, black, shitty looking obnoxious robot. the only charming thing about this obnoxious movie was the robot. the only good thing was hugh jackman, awesome as ever, ready as the former boxing star. shittier than rocky with elements targeting the obnoxious tween white american boy. god this one sucked. disney is making worse and worse live-actions. only pixar burns with hope for me. (also the comparisons to transformers? really?)
no idea what the relation between this and e.t. except for alien and 70-80's feel. this was a more mature but still "for kids" movie. enjoyed it. the kids were a blast. industrial light and magic lives up to its name yet again.

was expecting the great "twist" but seriously enjoyed this movie. dark, gritty in a world where the underdog is crushed underfoot. superb plot, excellent acting, great support cast and david fincher giving us a masterpiece
mediocre at best. it was predictable, tried its best to be smart but washed towards the end. like somebody here said, should have ended on freeze frame. also, cant believe a decorated officer like goodwin is ready to disobey all orders. especially on something that could save millions of lives
very shitty movie. characters r utterly unbelievable. would u be willing to follow ur testosterone fuelled "best friend" up a building to climb into another building which is LEANING ON IT! and all for love. are u kidding me? the alien was just for show and to eat the cameraman who i think got it coming being one of the stupidest best friends ever. "what time is 0600"? seriously? effects were good especially for a camera that shaky. all the cast were irritating and i was wondering when each would die. not scary, just lot of hype and ads.
