Really funny. Not much of a plot, but more a series of vignettes with the loveable loser/drunk character. It's a shame that Gloria Jean's film career never really took off because she is attractive and talented.
She does it because she has a nanny who is the only person who knows her son's favorite blankie and a husband who helps a lot around the house.ugh! I can't feel anything but contempt for this working mother. SJP is a little too old for this part. This movie is truly awful!!!
"Clint Eastwood did all of his own stunts, including the scene where he cuts his safety line over a drop of at least one thousand feet. The only stunt he did not perform was a 2500-foot drop, for which a dummy was used. "IMDb
"125 horses were trip-wired during filming, 25 died or had to be killed afterward, resulting in the US Congress passing new laws to protect animals used in motion pictures. " IMDb
Oh, God, make it stop! I've been sitting here for what seems like days and this movie just drags on and on, with occasional bright moments. I have done long e-mails, skyped my sister and son, played pc games, and still it's going onnnnn. sigh The scenes with the golden light at harvest are really beautiful, though. However, several animals are harmed, even killed.
I find it creepy that someone could do the Goldilock's thing, using your toothbrush, wearing your clothes, even if he is harmless, but I love the silence. Their faces tell the story.
"Anachronisms: Not since Raquel Welch was battling the dinosaurs in One Million Years B.C. were so many anachronistic errors squeezed into one prehistoric-era film: (a) Metalworking - first copper, then bronze, then iron - was mastered around 5500 BC; (b) Exploitation of horses for human transportation started approximately 4000 BC; (c) The earliest pyramid was erected in Egypt circa 2630 BC; and (d) Mammoths had never been domesticated as pack animals." Romanticized version of a real life cowboy's experience, but I am a sucker for a good, old-fashioned boy- and -his- horse story.Movie comment on Cranford: Return to Cranford: Part One - August 1844

A beautiful, quiet story of a relationship between people; if you want a thriller with gunplay and chase scenes, this is not that.Movie comment on Straw Dogs
