Enjoyed it, unfortunately - as with the other Mel Brooks' movies that I've seen - it didn't make me laugh out loud, or really laugh at all. I got all the humour, thought it was done very well... but no kick to it. Damn, I was really hoping it would get me.
Though one random scene got me towards the end involving the villain, brilliantly done. Would watch it again just for that!
Decent. Watched this after Captain America the other night as a run up to the Avengers. As a result, I couldn't really take Thor to be an independent movie; I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it that much if there wasn't something better coming after.
So bizarre. Not really my kind of movie (only stumbled onto it because of the zombies, but even they weren't that important in the grand scheme of things) and I found it difficult to like.
However, the ending was impressive and was filmed really well.
From what I've seen, there are only about a dozen great zombie movies. La Horde had potential, but didn't quite make it up there to rank with the best.
Worth a watch to all those zombie fans out there. Though you'll be shouting at the characters to aim for the head. It should be standard zombie movie procedure for the necessity of headshots to be established early, or zombie movies should exist in the movie so they bloody know what to do. It doesn't create good tension, it's old, cut it out.
Tries too hard to be cool and instead comes across as wacky. The zombies were, uh, different. Somewhat entertaining, but the setting used to save budget grows tiresome.
The running time of close to 2 hours didn't help either; could have easily shaved 30 minutes off it.
This was not what I was looking for in a movie. Sure, the effects were neat, and I did wonder how it was all done, but it wasn't a good experience for me. But I did find myself thinking about how it would have been to see the effects back in '68. Today, it just seems irrelevant.
There were a lot of long, boring scenes, music choice didn't seem to suit it, twenty minutes of monkeys, and an unrewarding ending that made me wonder why I just sat through it all (not that an ending makes a movie, it just seemed flat).
Just thought that I'd say the word boring again.
I'd expect to be challenged by fans telling me that I don't "get it". But a sequence of fancy looking scenes just doesn't cut it for me. I'm glad that I watched it though - once - despite not loving it.
Not usually a fan of overly ambiguous work, but in the case of Mulholland Drive I really liked coming up with my own conclusions. My mind hurt trying to piece together everything after watching it, only to have it all fall apart whenever I thought of it from a different angle.
There's no right or wrong answer here really, just enjoy what you've seen and make up whatever you want to believe.
Asian horror gets me again. This was actually really scary to me, then again these guys exploit my weaknesses.
I watched the remake before this (always a big mistake, d'oh) so I knew what was coming... but it still didn't prepare me at times. This was much superior to the so-so American version.
Nice alternative perspective on the genre, got a good few laughs out of me during the first half. It ran dry around the middle since it had pulled its best punches early on, but still worth the watch!
By the way, I don't understand why some users (one in particular on this page, nudge nudge) spout hatred towards movies they clearly aren't suited to watching. Lighten up.
Excellent. I was reluctant to watch Fido since I didn't really know much about it and I thought it'd be another cheap zombie movie.
But it proved me wrong. A brief synopsis: set a few decades after a zombie outbreak in a kind of alternate '50s America, people are domesticating zombies - one of which is Fido. The classic Romero rule applies where reanimation occurs after death.
Fido himself is great, the second best zombie out there, just behind Bub. He looked like an undead Billy Connolly. EDIT: Wow, it actually was him.
Didn't like it. It doesn't really do much and leaves it up to the viewer to make something out of it from the (very) little information that was presented.
Problem was that I just didn't care about anything in the movie - the characters, the "mystery", nada.
Some creepy shots, sure, but there was no impact. Plenty of yawns throughout, wouldn't recommend.
Aired as a short miniseries, but I considered it to be a long movie (had it on DVD and watched it in 2 sessions). It was a really good watch, though the ending let it down for me just slightly, but nowhere near enough to ruin it.
Creepy, nice location, good acting - worth a watch.
Have to agree with what's been said about the good concept and average execution, but when I think about it, maybe there wasn't much more they could have done with it.

Decent. They managed to make something out of perhaps the campiest comic book hero. However there was the definite feel to the movie that it was just a lead up to the Avengers. Couldn't shake it off.
