One the funniest Christmas movies ever. I watch it literally every year. Hear me talk about it in episode 10 of our movie podcast "Liebe auf den ersten Film" (German language) https://open.spotify.com/show/36eCaitWfbSnQH7NYszrbz

Just watched this and I must say: this was one of the greatest cinematic experiences I've had in a while. Absolutely universal, just pure cinema with incredible camera work and stunning montage. I watched the UK Blu-Ray with an awesome orchestral soundtrack composed by Michael Nyman. Highly recommended!

People, could you eventually forget about the title of this movie? Yes we know there's no Michael Myers in it and that's probably the reason why this is quite an intelligent little horror flick about mass media, commodity fetishism and how people in the 20s and even more in the 21st century are affected by its manipulative character.

AfterTheParade

Absolutely not overrated. A stunningly beautiful picture with a simple theme on the surface but with a very interesting conception of space and the connections of the two spheres with two contrary concepts of love is simply awesome. Especially in the heartbreaking end, when one of these spheres is about to crumble and both protagonists are becoming totally aware of their situation, this film becomes a masterpiece.

An awesome movie living by it's great characters and interesting plot-twists. Elliott Gould's performance is indeed incredibly good.

I agree with mightysparks. The first half of the movie seems like the "story" was only a bad excuse for sex scenes. The second half showed what the real intention of the movie is, however: It made also clear that the only reason why this is a canonized movie is the fact that it was/is very scandalous for a non porno, but a scandalous movie is not always equally art. In my opinion a waste of time.

Wow! That was something totally different from what i expected from an american movie about sports. A hilarious, sometimes dark comedy against all genre clichés, working with themes you won't see in any other Hollywood sports movie: Unemployment, Brutality in Sports, Sex and bad language. Now i see why it's considered a cult classic today and why it's for ages 16 and up here in germany. Highly recommended!

AfterTheParade

Ridiculous history turd. Very sketchy plot with many holes. Some scenes, like the rescue of the whores and the following progress of the plot, were simply laughable, i can't believe that outstanding actors like Bardem or Portman were part of this...

I totally agree with Zorobay, too. Instant favorite! cinematography, soundtrack, script and acting are near perfection, making Drive a very unique, emotional experience.

Beautiful contemporary western, with indeed very interesting, strange and somehow even humorous elements all that combined with the tragic elements of Peckinpah's revisionist westerns!
