It's slow paced, the acting is choppy, and it can be a bit repetitive. But there is a solid heart behind this movie that ultimately makes it worth watching. Watch the trailer, and if you like that you will probably enjoy this one.
It is a blatant attempt by Reese Witherspoon to take an edgier role, but she does a fine job with it. Excellent cinematography, surprisingly good pacing, and solid character development. I definitely recommend seeing it if you are on the fence.
Pretty solid directorial debut. Takes on a pretty tough subject matter and handles it in a mature way. Aspires to but never touches greatness, but definitely worth the cost of admission.
Mindblowing. One of the most carefully crated movies from a visual standpoint that I have ever seen. My favorite movie of 2013 so far. And I don't even like Sandra Bullock!
Excellent camera work, and one of the best rivalry stories in a film I have seen in some time. Ron Howard really steps it up and puts together one hell of a film. You could even hate racing and have a blast with this movie. All the characters are very real and very likeable (and unlikeable at the same time). I think it is natural to find yourself going backwards in allegiance to Hunt and Lauda throughout the film.
Chris Hemsworth proves he can act. He perfectly captures the playboy James Hunt while making him a very personable yet superstar character. Daniel Bruhl also gives a very nuanced performance, and is as much a lead in the film as Hemsworth. You really get sucked into the rivalry between them even though rivalries have been done so many times in films before. This one is captured with a level of attention to detail and storytelling that makes it something special.
Very hard to be disappointed by this one. Definitely one of the best films I have seen so far this year.
Pretty stunning film. Cate Blanchett blows it out of the park and captures a pretty difficult role perfectly. She makes the lead character both lovable and totally unlikeable at the same time. The end of the film really hits you in a way few other films do.
The supporting cast is not dynamite, but they play a good counterpoint to Cate Blanchett's character. The editing is superb. The use of flashbacks is the best I have seen in a long time. The Alec Baldwin scenes are excellent.
Probably my favorite Woody Allen movie of the last ten years.
Have to say I was pretty impressed by this one. Some great camerawork, engrossing plot, solid performances, and careful pacing. Definitely recommend it.
Pretty impressive film. I really dislike the whole sports film genre quite a bit, but there are certainly some films in it that really shine. This is one of them. I watched this the same night I watched The Ides of March and enjoyed this more.
One complaint is that Phillip Seymour Hoffman's role seemed a bit out of place or underused to me, but maybe there was no way around that. Jonah Hill gave a solid performance, particularly given the role. It was nice to see him do a different kind of movie than he normally does. Hard to say right now how this will fair at the Oscars til more of the contenders come out, but this will probably take at least one home, maybe for the screenplay.
A challenging film, but one that is really worth your time if you are a cinema lover. Trying to sum up this film would be quite a difficult task. You could call it a political, pop-art, existential exploration of history and art, human consciousness, and reality. The narrator's voice is really haunting, probably the best narration in a film I have ever seen.
Pretty solid. Not the best political thriller (or whatever you want to call it) I have seen, but it was an enjoyable film and one of the better movies of the year. Ryan Gosling really impressed me, as I have not always liked his performances.

Certainly not a great horror film. A relatively fun watch. Just do not go in expecting a whole lot and you will hopefully have a good time.Movie comment on I Trapped the Devil
