Watching it I had no idea what was going on and, upon finishing it, I couldn't grasp what this film was really about. Even so, I really liked it - I enjoyed the crazy plot, soundtrack and atmosphere enormously. After reading the analysis and thinking of the commonly accepted theory, I love Lost Highway even more. It has complex meaning and is entertaining both taken at face value and metaphorically. For me this is the true greatness of this film.

The scene when Alice tells Bill about the desire she felt for the man at the hotel must be one of my favourite moments in cinema, what a spectacular show of long forgotten and hidden emotions. One of my favourites of Kubrick.

I've never seen a movie directed with such sensitivity and, despite the tough subject it touches, I felt warm all over. I marvel especially at the love scenes - they were treated astoundingly original.

Oh my. Young, horny, angsty and gay Daniel Day Lewis - enough said. This movie is just a complete, sweet mess.

I'm extremely glad that it won the Best Picture. It's true that Birdman is not a masterpiece,it is by no means perfect, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be recognized and honoured, when people who made it: the crew and the actors did such an amazing, unique job. Imho, it was natural that if they honoured the director (the most deserving one), cinematographer and screenplay, but they didn't do so with actors, they (the Academy) would find a way to honour the entirety of the project, because giving the top prize to Birdman means that the amazing, amazing performances have been awarded too.

Overly long, dull and unimaginative. It was a pain watching it to the end,but I never give up on potential Oscar movies. The script is awful. It's a praise to typical, white American family and values,at the same time being disgustingly stereotypical. His mother discovering hidden abilities in a poor Mexican immigrant, when she, being an adult who had just finished studying, struggles to talk with him in Spanish? Really,Linklater,is that all that you've got?Along with overwhelming pathology as an alcoholic father-in-law?A lot of cheesy, uncomfortable moments, which, I felt, were inserted into the story, because there was no other idea to make it really interesting and special. This movie made me really uncomfortable, because it was so superficial. Boyhood is an uninvolving ode to nothing. And I couldn't stand the characters,Mason, his sister and mother.Struggling with delivering meaningless dialogues about the sense of life, blah, blah. They were painful to watch. The whole movie is blah blah in fact. But it catches the attention of critics and filmmakers because it has been filmed for 12 years and,as I said, it's a 3 hour long ode to Americanism (white Americanism).

Every bit of it: cinematography, acting, work of the camera, the script, music, everything was stunning. I've never seen a film like that. I love it with all my heart. So inspiring!

Not the worst movie ever, but it's just ridiculous that it's in a race for so many Oscars including best film. The whole film is ridiculous, in fact. Firstly, bad timing for most of music insets, that I felt just enough of it after 30 mins. Disappointing performances, even by Bale, I think that for many people his gaining weight and look actually blurred the fact that it wasn't any special acting. Amy Adams was amazing though, if we forget some embarassing moments( like ectasy sitting on a toilet). Jen Law? It was like she felt uncomfortable in her character all the time.
And I hated elongated, meaningless dialogues that had nothing to do with general plot, which was chaotic anyway. It didn't need over 2 hours, that's why the movie feels pointless. Really, I can't understand what people see in it.

The most beautiful film by David Fincher. Everything about it is perfect. I cannot go through it without crying.
