A lot of the CGI, blue screen acting, extra acting, Downey Jr's fake facial hair, costumes, props, and sets are laughable now...in ten years this movie will be a full blown joke.
Holy exposition, Batman! Movie would be 10 minutes long if they stopped explaining everything. Show -- don't tell. Even with all the exposition I still didn't really get it or care to try.
Eh. Horse-racing and boxing are the two most beautiful sports to put on film. A robot could film boxing and make it poetic. This director is less emotional than robot...this boxing film isn't poetry it's a classified ad for a garage sale on the south side of town. Christian Bale is was good acting as GOB Bluth acting as a drug addicted ex-boxer but because of the film itself the performance will be completely forgotten about in five years.
I don't understand why people are so interested in the nominees list...it's a rubbish list of participation ribbon winners...one movie doesn't even exist anymore so the list can never officially be completed...we should have the other category winners before we have a list of the bloody losers! What a waste of time.
I think this is a movie made to be watched in a theater...even though I have a good sound system I think it needs to be played really loud and with the bass turned way up to be scary. Otherwise it's pretty much just noises off-screen.
Personally I feel that if there isn't one real source for a list then it shouldn't be listed here. This Spanish list isn't a real "list"...some dude just sent you 212 Spanish films he found in books and on IMDb. It's a list alright but it holds no merit. I could scrounge up a bunch of films that have a single connection and it would technically be a list but probably not one worth posting here.
Needless to say I have hidden this "list"...thanks again for that feature!
