This tried way too hard to be weird. It was too disjointed and random to make sense. Normally im into odd movies but this wasnt organic in any way. 2/5 is generous.
I quite enjoyed the way this was told. Great presentation. However where it fell down was the poor acting. It was a let down. Also I'm not sure if it was intentionally shot with a bad aspect ratio or maybe it's just Helen's head.

Great acting and i really like how the story grew into the climax. I wish they didnt try to put in moral story message crap though. It ruined the film for me.
Main character’s demeanour didnt align with the rest of the family and namely the male partner. She was miscast. Her relationship was unbelievable so it was hard for me to buy in. Good thing she’s easy on the eyes and the movie is well made.
Be warned, this is a grim grim film. Not since Dancer in the Dark have I seen something this difficult to watch. Its very well made and the acting is convincing. Hard to stop thinking about it, as much as I'd like to.
Its a shame Lily James couldnt hold up her part here. The accent was a challenge Id imagine. Love her in everything else Ive seen. Tessa is great as always.
Subject matter was unrelatable to this viewer however other than what i said above about LJ falling flat, this was a well done film.

English speaking film made by the French about a Russian submarine crew. Turned out pretty damn good! Sure its a sub movie so we all know what to expect; however, the turning point was spectacular.
I wasn't sure what this movie was about (I try to go in blind when I can) and I was very uncomfortable through most of this one. I didn't enjoy it at all but at the same time it was very good!
