A musical? Seriously?

Theories are bollocks, but interesting. Doc editing makes them blend into one gooey mess.

Awful script, awful acting and an awful premise. Awful.

Massively disappointing. I'm almost impressed at how bad I thought it was.

Can I just be the only person to say that this is completely rubbish? I may have to go and watch Raiders again to cleanse myself.

It's genius, up until the ending. It feels like it builds to a denouement, then just decides not to bother.

A crazy alternative Christmas movie.

A pleasant surprise. Great performances, good music and very funny in places.

Earth man becomes great Martian warrior because he can jump quite high.

Utter trash.

Some crackling dialogue and a stunning Sam Rockwell performance are not enough to save this film. In Bruges is one of my favourites, but this thought it was a lot cleverer than it actually was.

I think people want this to be better than it is. It's 90 minutes of plot stretched over 3 hours. Martin Freeman and the CGI were the only things worth seeing.

Surprisingly competent, until the terribly Hollywood ending. We all know how it should've panned out.

Very odd story, transferred into an excellent documentary. I love that it blurs the line between interviews and dramatisations and that it doesn't have all of the answers at the end.

Fine. Nothing more than that. Kids will adore it though.

Every time it got close to being watchable, Baz Luhrmann did something to really irritate me.

Beautifully acted and stunning to look at, but the plot is completely static and it think it's better than it is.

Opening half is perfection. Second half is not as good, but isn't bad at all. The final sequence with the sniper is pretty good.

If it had been played as a satire rather than a mass-audience comedy, it could've worked so well. Unforfunately, it's a mediocre misfire.

Not exactly fun. It seems to be shocking for the sake of it. Gains marks for genuinely strong performances and great production values, but loses marks for segments that are just sick.

Surprisingly fun actually, although it is remarkably ridiculous in more or less every way.
