First off, great visuals do not a great film make.
And I really didn't feel it - slow and plodding plot for the majority of the movie. Then they must have realised it was getting a bit long winded and then rushed all the plot at the end. Bizarre.
Gravity is a far far better movie than this over-hyped sci-fi.
I have to say, I thought this was quite a moving film. I'm not sure about some of the moralisms in the movie - I think they are a bit idealistic, but it made me think about some aspects of my own childhood, so for me I found it a worthwhile watch.
Totally agree with rwj, george and sobchak. This is a tedious boring load of old tripe. I not only want my 2hrs 43mins back, I want the 10 quid I spent buying the DVD!
Well Chris, you're well within your rights to dissent, but I have to agree with the majority - I love it.
The tramp is such an appealing character as you can't help but be on his side - he's endearing and non-threatening, he doesn't need riches, power or dashing good looks to win you over.
The ending is very touching, and the boxing scene is flawless.
