One, which relies on cheap scares and in-your-face monstrosities, much like The Conjuring.
The other type, relies on eerie cinematography, bone-chilling music, and induces a gradual stream of terror which besets your heart even after the film is long over. Example: The Omen (1976)

Decent film. However, it does not compare to the class of Wednesday. The romantic interventions could have been done away with, it was obvious that the film was trying to be more 'filmy'.
Plus, there might have been this plot hole - spoiler ...

An OK film by Anderson's standards.
Does not match up to Zissou, Tenebaums or Darjeeling Ltd.
The soundtrack wasn't the usual best, and the children though good were not compelling enough like his usual adult protagonists. Maybe because the adult characters had greater depth.
Also, the film title did not feature the usual 'Futura' font :|
Missed Owen Wilson. And Bruce Willis did not fit in the mould of the usual Anderson characters, maybe the latter should stick to his old crew...
