Good for a while, but when you finally are shown what they are being hunted by, it's disappointing. Just okay.

Hans Zimmer's score is one of his best.

Wow, this generally just feels like a great movie, a really great movie that few people have seen.

"Paris Can Wait" is the actual, first-world title.

Pretty much the B-movie I was looking for. Efficient, for what it was.

No idea how Ice Cube has sustained a film career this long. The man has one expression - a growl. That's it.

Some extraordinary camerawork, particularly the long takes.

I'm a big fan of Beatty, but this film - and the slight story - doesn't really seem worth the wait and effort it took to bring to the screen. Not bad, just not memorable either.

A big disappointment from Greg McLean.

If the studio hadn't hacked away at Nutter's original version, it might have been a little better - in terms of character development, for example. Still, it's watchable enough, a silly, elongated "X-Files" episode basically.

Wonderfully evocative and atmospheric, fueled by the strong power of suggestion. Yes, the shots of the creature (especially at the beginning) hurt the film, but Tourneur plows ahead regardless; he was a fantastic director, with his witty, allusive style. Love his use of light and shadow.

A model of economy and tension. Superbly directed. Raymond Burr is a great heavy.

Beautiful cinematography - and that haunting, scathing scene when Rock visits with the wife who thinks he's dead!

Awesome action scenes and stuntwork, but poor storytelling and the nadir of star charisma.

It's nothing you haven't seen before - no scene or character or beat you haven't seen before - but it is smooth and very watchable and enjoyable. The cast is very good.

Vikander dominates the movie - her character has the more fascinating arc.

Blanchett's an acting god and the movie was more or less compelling.

The ungainly structure didn't really illuminate much of anything and the film left me empty - despite the formidable and consistently excellent talents behind and in front of the camera.

Well-shot and filmed, but I wasn't drawn in to any of the characters. Despite the fine cast, none of the performances were memorable. The structure was a little too blunt and honestly, there were too many characters.
