Brilliant film, although I was a little disappointed overall.
It captured the reality of love/relationships perfectly, but I found that the sexual scenes got boring quickly, although perhaps that was the point.
Hey everyone, I hate to go off topic, but I've just been introduced to the film streaming site mubi: http://uk.mubi.com/tell-a-friend/global/to6o4m6
Is it new or am I late to the party? Has anyone else used it, and if so what did you think of it? It seems like it could be amazing, but having just joined I may just be getting my hopes up.
I wasn't aware of The Master until T-Made mentioned it, that'll hopefully be another great film by Anderson.
I don't understand all the hype over The Avengers, but that's probably because I find superhero movies to be just a current trend in bland film-making.
I don't find the whole Lord Of The Rings/Hobbit thing that interesting either, probably made worse by all the hype that follows them. Perhaps I'm just suppressing my inner child in my dislike of superheroes and fantasy films.
Oh, and Iron Sky, Gangster Squad, and They Sweeney could be hit or miss, maybe a bit cheesy for me.
The Raid, The Dark Knight Rises (obviously), maybe Salmon Fishing in the Yemen if it isn't as disgustingly cheesy as the trailer makes it look, and I'm curious as to whether Savages and Django Unchained will turn out to be any good...
I wouldn't say I'm a massive sci-fi fan, but I've just started a science fiction module on my university course. It's interesting to see how vague and varied a definition of science fiction can be.
I'm also interested in philosophy in sci-fi. Has anyone taken any philosophical ideas from particular sci-fi films?
