I think its aptly rated film...not nicks best, not his worst, just average. Not sure if I could see enough of Scorsese in this, certainly not his best. It's a quaint little quirky film that has its moments but moves at a miserable pace and lacks focus, which might've been the intent but not sure if everything falls into place just because the film has lack of direction as the direction at its core.
Full of plotholes and idiotic at best. If you are infantile enough to buy into the whole premise, even then it manages to annoy the fuck out of you with making its characters irredeemable.

You can clearly see the influence from Refn, but this film isn't as vivid as Refns work. Good start though. 6/10 maybe 7 if you overlook poor effort at storytelling.
As far as romance genera goes in India, this one pushes the envelop, but fails to go any further then a set line drawn in the sand by the producers or the director/writers own will with flimsy excuses and whatnot.
I feel there are parallels to be drawn between this and whiplash, this being the better movie in every aspect obviously, its all about perception I think, as in whiplash people fucking praise sociopath characters whereas in this people loathe him, exposes the double standards one finds in our daily perceptual fallacy of a life that we lead.
