@ Jumping Elephant: Why would a separate list with all the nominees (including the winners) make this list redundant?
Lists do not have to be 100% exclusive. Just take a look at the Leonard Martin list. AFAIK every single entry can also be found on the TSPDT list. Does that make the LM list redundant?
Why would you expand a list that is very difficult to complete and not all that popular when you could add a list of films that are almost not represented at all.
How about adding a good documentary list, a musical list, more film festival lists or good short lists (-> 100 entries) of rather obscure films.
+
If you are strongly interested in silent films, then go ahead! There are quite a few in Rosenbaum's list. Most of which are not listed in this top 100.
+
Do we really need to bump up (every) list to a few hundred entries? The horror list with its 500 entries spots a lot of terrible films and could easily reduced to a 250 films, the film noir list is also full of rather redundant and mediocre films and the double your cannon list appears to be completely random in its quality and choice of films.
+
Bottom line: For viewing pleasure it would be best to keep lists relatively short or at least well thought-out. It would also be nice to add rather obscure genres, themes and countries instead of expanding the already well-represented ones. Especially if people aren't that much interested in those.
On the other hand, yes, there are quite a few good films in that 101-200 list. ;)
BUT most of those are already in other lists as well. Which means that the recommendation to watch these films is already given.
Maybe make those other 200 "missing" entries a separate list.
Here in Germany we (used to) call horror movies "Gruselfilme" and there is a very small genre known as "Grusical" (Horror + Musical).

So I guess for some people Sweeney Todd qualifies as both horror and a musical.
