Surprisingly well made, tense throughout and not boring at all. Some great bits of cinematography as well

Good pace and well made, has a bit of a dark comedy feeling where all the horrific scenes feel light and less shocking than what they really are

Expertly made and very well paced. Honestly best movie of 2023 in my opinion

Great cinematography, but pretty cookie cutter script/story. Still not a slog and is over at the exact time it should be

Honestly, well done. First and this last one are the strongest of the series

Very decent surprise. Balances between the obvious over zealous nature of the group, yet at the same time introduces the demonic imagery as her intense trauma. Can't be taken 100% as psychological, nor 100% as spiritual.

Interesting take. Plus last few shots of main character are chillingly authentic and portray the expected state of her so much more realistically than any big budget film ive seen in a while...

Can we start labeling these types of movies as dark fantasy instead of horror...

Decent gangster film, keeps moving along a good quick pace

Pretty much (more or less) guessed the ending about 1/3 in when the daughter says spoiler, but honestly was still a decent film.

Worthington's performance was top notch and kept it really engaging.

Could be a bit tighter, but the comparisons to HBOs Chernobyl are a bit unfair.

This mini series takes a more documentary/historically accurate approach, with drama being secondary. Nothing wrong with that approach, with this series I felt like i was in the control room and on the ground with the responders. Sure there were times it dragged and at times they did not need to show ALL the failed attempts and ALL the repetative discussions, but it added to the authenticity.

It wasn't a clean/typical, "found the issue, ok we solved it, day is saved" story, it goes through the numerous theories/trials/surprises/let downs that would naturally occur in a situation such as this.

If it is taken as a hybrid documentary/drama, it works well. Take it as a drama or documentary by itself and it becomes either dry or too drawn out.

Solid 7/10

Holy flying f*** the last 10mins of the film:
1. Amazing use of lighting (for such a large set!)
2. Last 30 secs, cracking up from disbelief

Started with Kitano's Outrage trilogy first and than went backwards to Hana-bi and this, damn this one cannot be missed.

Holy crap that was bad and cheaply made. Feels like it was geared toward a much younger audience

You will forget you saw this in a couple of weeks... no depth, just a washed out "modern" take that accomplishes nothing

A detective, when confronted with someone nervously revealing something to them, turns around to his wife and flat out says "well that was weird"

That was the exact point the story lost all credibility. Everyone in the film is so completely naive that you start to hate the characters that the first half had worked to build up.

I dont agree with the other comments comparing this to the Cure, characters were not making decisions because the killer was "charismatic", the underlying message there made sense. I was honestly at awe how the slimey antagonist could convince any one to do anything or how he could be seen as comforting...

Philosophy 101 interpretation brought to screen. Main point here is a concious mental state can create/destory anything it wants. All we are doing in the first stage and reset stage of the film is experiencing those two mental states of the character. It doesnt matter which is real or not, all of them exist, all of them are true and all endings are real in their own plane.

The point of the film is the process that needs to happen before the healing instance can manifest. All others can and do occur before the final one does, but he needs to exhaust them and understand/learn from them before the final one makes sense.

Technically 90% of the film doesnt exist in "normal" terms, but the sacrifice of those two parallel universes are worth it for the kids final take on things

Amazing sense of unease and discomfort throughout. Anyone complaining about the end, that is the film driving the point. The passiveness and lack of action is exactly what the film is commenting on, being too soft, too "politically correct" (lack of a better phrase, even though it is actually said outright in the film), and too people-pleasing.

The fact that they come back twice, the fact that the father stares at the keys and does nothing, the fact that they comply in the last 3mins of the film when there is no true apparent threat... everything is trying to methaphorically explain that the comforts of middle class life really affect and wash out the vigor of adult/parental personality. The film does comment on the "old days" of aggressive and parental discipline, again pointing out that the other end of the spectrum is equally as horrible.

In general, an extremely effective film

Heavy, gritty and slow burning. Can guess at the outcome but will still second guess it all until the last few mins.

Its well made and i'd is worth a watch, just once

Agree with the top comment here by greenhorg, perfect summary.

Just to add, the key is the fact that no one ever sees them together in the same room (except them two). The tip off is when the pregnant wife calls her husband and he picks up THE SECOND the professor walks off screen behind the university wall

Flashy thing, where a bunch of cool people do a whole lot of other cool flashy things, which consistently keeps happening for 2 hrs. But then at the end there is one last cool thing that reminds you that some cool people can always be chill AND cool at the same time.

Overall, if u enjoy cool people doing cool things, in a cool way, then look no further

Jokes aside, iif you just want to disconnect and watch non-stop cool action, look no further and enjoy (i know i definitely felt cool after too)

P.S. just dont miss how cool some cool people can really be

Agreed, a decent mini horror series that keeps the plot moving and ends with a slight but satisfying twist.

When the source of how it all started is revealed, you cant help but feel sorry for all the characters, even the annoying assh*oles..

Glad that season 2 was cancelled, because this ends on a perfect note that does not need anymore fleshing out/content. Another season would ruin what this accomplished

Awesome, had a grin on the entire time

I also nominate this film as best "show boobs for no reason feature" of all time. Feels like half the film budget went on ripped shirts/dresses
