I liked the premise and the way it was laid out in the first episode. The 5 episodes following that were ok. Some nice hommages to old samurai and western movies. The way the final two episodes brought it all together though, magnificent.
I like how this remake tries to take the red scare of the original and puts it in perspective of the skepticism towards multinationals of the 21st centry.
Such a shame it failed so miserably at the execution.
Thank you for your hard work and passion throughout these years. It has been both inspirational and educational to myself and those around me. Good luck with all your other quests!
@Maraku11 Saw II is decent enough, it's a stereotypical sequal that just about holds it's own, but is not nearly as great as the original. It's the other sequals that give the first film a bad name.
I can see where you're coming from, I quite enjoyed it, but did notice the irregularities in the accents.
I did think the Shelbys were supposed to be Irish living in Birmingham, so I thought Murphy was perfectly cast?
It's an interesting premise, and having read the book I can even say it's a compelling story. The acting isn't great but decent enough.
I blame the director for the matter-of-fact display of the plot, leaving us with no empathy for any of the characters.
The start and ending were brilliantly cropped and adapted, but the middle of the movie feels rather shallow.
Great acting! decent script and overal film as well, but what the hell was up with the filters?!
Somewhere half-way they seemed to switch, suddenly everything looked like it was brand new.
I was wondering for a while what you guys were up to...
My first reaction was - as it should be when a true fan looks at any new design - "yuck!". A second look made me realise only a moment later that the only "yuck" thing was the "icheckmovies" in golden letters. A third look convinced me that while I'll really miss the current design, the new one looks absolutely amazing! (except for those golden letters, get them out!)
Keep up the good work guys!
edit: I do disagree that the current design is showing it's age, I think it's great, but I understand you want to change it. IMDB urls were much appreciated, get those in!

Decent film, interesting world building and nice set up for another two films, but doesn't come close to the level of the previous trilogy.Movie comment on The Mandalorian

More of the same, not bad, but the plotline with Amy went from unnecessary to downright terrible about when the boat came in.That time could have been spend on more music, character development or just left unused, anything would have been better.

It's been a while since I saw a movie this predictable. But you know what else it was? Fun.Movie comment on The Lion King

Amazing visuals. I had no problem with the emotions being more flat. The new cast did a great job in their own right, but for me largely fell short of the original, especially Scar, Timon and Pumba.
The biggest failure though is the butchering of one of the greatest Disney songs ever, be prepared.

Not particularly groundbreaking internationally, but might be different in its country of origin?Decent short, but not among the top 50.

Decent but generic. The only notable thing is it showing how racial and cultural tensions can escalate with the smallest of sparks.Movie comment on Baywatch

Not as bad as I expected. Not sure whether that's due to the quality or my expectations. For a dumb reboot it was pretty enjoyable.Movie comment on A River Runs Through It
