I don't mind the ads, if it keeps you guys around.
Although I do have a small issue with the placement. Is it possible to move them to the top of the page like most other sites with ad banners?
Having them right in the middle breaks up the flow of your awesome site and is quite annoying.
Love your site!
@MrCarmady: My point was that if you look at specifically how the Female Under-18 demographic votes on those movies, it is wildly out of sync with everyone else. It's been a topic of discussion before on IMDb.
I do agree that teenage males rule the Top 250 list. It's why every comic book movie shoots to the top right after release.
I totally understand where Kasparius is coming from. It is extremely frustrating to see these bad foreign films make their way up the charts.
But I have to agree with roobin_22. If we start voting down these films without having seen them, then we are no better than the teenage girls who vote down classic movies that get to the top of the IMDb Top 250. (see: The Seven Samurai, Apocalypse Now, Sunset Blvd, Dr. Strangelove, etc.)
Agreed, Kat. Although the fault is with IMDb, not with icheckmovies. IMDb has inexplicably started to categorize these shows as "mini-series" and they have high enough ratings to break into this list.
That makes no sense Gerry. If I watched 10 minutes of a movie, i wouldn't check it and say "Well, If I don't watch the rest of it, then I will uncheck it."
I think this actually reveals the bigger problem: IMDB ratings. This had a 9.0 and made it to the top of the miniseries list before it was released or only after one episode. Maybe the first episode was great but you haven't seen the whole thing so how can you possibly rate it? (see my argument above)
(Don't get me wrong, I loved Band of Brothers and was anxiously waiting for The Pacific to come out too)
I want to see a list of all winners of the National Board of Review best pictures of the year. They go back as long as the Oscars and have some interesting choices.

2001 is messed up.Meska sprawa should not be there.
It should have The Man Who Wasn't There instead.

I'd really like to finish this list. Only two more to go!However those two are Ningen no Joken and Satantango....
Not sure I want to sit through over 17 hours of film just to complete this list. I could watch 10 other films in that time!

It has actually premiered in certain countries, so it's not unreasonable that it would already have checks...Blog comment on How To Get Ahead in Advertising

I like the inclusion of the Silent Era Films list. How about adding the National Board of Review's top film of each year?

They've been going as long as the Oscars and offer some interesting alternatives for many of the years.
