Absolute madness from start to finish. Weirdly feminist, as most of the male characters were either impotent/weak or aggressive/controlling, yet it didn't feel like it was anti-men. It seemed to explore human sexuality in a way I've never seen before in film. Enjoyed it quite a lot, and is my favorite of all the Oscar nominations for Best Picture from those I've seen so far.

Man, this movie sucked hard. The only thing good about it was Jon Voight's performance, but it didn't quite save the movie from being a total piece of crap.
I am European, I like both American and European films, but this movie was boring as fuck. After the promising opening, the movie is as interesting as a piece of crumpled paper.
