I hate it when symbolism dictates the story, making it incoherent, it's the case in this film and it's forced and made me feel conned in the end. This is what I call 2nd level of symbolism (1st level is even dumber like Barbie, Poor Things,...), where the filmmaker thinks he's deeper and more intelligent than the 1st level, but in the end it's still superficial symbolism.
Enjoyable, yes.
But so pretentious and very direct, like Barbie.
It's just that this one is better made aesthetically to make it look artsy and not commercial.
Seriously I'm fed up with pretentious films that try to look prestige and grab Oscars.

Better than La Grande Bellezza ! Italians are great in autobiography films! They portray their memories in a heartwarming way.
