I like the movie, but whoever did the sound design is an idiot. There was almost constantly music playing, usually songs. In one scene there was even two songs playing at the same time, and the music was always too loud. Not to mention how cheesy the choice of songs was.
Pure murrican white trash. Agreed with SkilledLunatic, all characters are assholes and hateable, especially Laurie. Why is Loomis such a dick here? One of the worst additions to the Halloween franchise, if not the worst?
1/5. I'd give this half a star for Jello Biafra, and another half for the cinematography. This is the perfect example of a movie that gorgeous cinematography does not equal a good movie, it cannot save a movie into being good (in my eyes) if the story is so hollow. In other words, this film had too much style and way too little substance.
I was able to see the conflict and climax a mile away. The second they entered the house happy, I knew there was gonna be a force against them staying in.
Once their friend died, the scene after you have one of the bruhs all of a sudden writing a play, it was obvious it was gonna be about him.

Holy shit, I was slowly getting killed and cringed out with every sentence the main character spoke. Such a self-centered and ungrateful character, and the film's directed for the audience to empathize with her bitching about her supposed homelife's poverty. ....this is not poverty. This is one of the whitest things I've ever seen. No wonder why so many seem to eat it up.
Very cliche, terrible script, Patrick Wilson, bad scoring choices. I wish this was given to another director and different set of actors (or at least no Patrick Wilson), story had much potential for it to be black metal af.
