Not good and I have nothing constructive to say. I was drunk when I watched it and wished I didn't.

I found some of the moments were indulgent, sentimental, even preachy - so many tropes- it was deja vu! I was confused by some of the liberties the writers took on some of the events and even characters showing up that shouldn't be in the Hobbit (Certain non-Elrond Elves and Non-Gandalf wizards) but LOTR took some liberties with the books too and even missed some characters and prophecies in the book. I forgave these things and found the movie as itself was entertaining- and does appeal to a wider audience

It's a feel good film with love and romance... French with English subtitle. It's a slow build with a reward at the end , the first twenty minutes is the bread with the meat in the middle and a sweet dessert is at the end. If you are a prude you will not like the most of the movie but it's kind and wonderful

A must see for Star Trek fans - Shatner did a tremendous job of interviewing the actors who performed the parts of Star Trek universe captains. It was like "In the Actors Studio" but for how the performers were able to create the personas for their respective captains. Well filmed, edited, and a fascinating glimpse into the minds of actors who take their craft very seriously

The subject is interesting - the rise and popularity of eugenics as a political and scientific interest - before Nazi Germany was in existence. The downside of this film is how it was edited. It had so much potential but long silences and black screens between points made the movie frustrating to watch. It felt like a dry college lecture with a terrible power point. Not recommended to people who are looking to be entertained

Metropolis was made during the days of the Wiemar Republic - the years following WWI before the Nazi party & Hitler came to power. The specter of Hitler has overshadowed the rich German culture boom following the first world war -including Cinema- so the movie is not as well known as it should be. The movie's plot feels familiar in so many ways with religious iconography, political messages, and romantic rivalry. Metropolis takes you on a ride that won't stop until the end. The acting was definitely silent movie style acting so do not be surpised by some of the expressions the actors use and the make-up commonly worn. The story is a rich and rewarding one and the visual effects and the movie styling make a movie worth watching.

More of a post WWI German art film than a horror film. Using sets and makeup in the style of German Expressionism, it seeks to illustrate the hallucinatory madness of a man who believes that the director of an asylum is the vengeful Dr Caligari with his hypnotized slave Cesare to kill people at will. The movie is important because it is the first acknowledged art film and had influenced so many filmmakers (Orson Welles, Burton, etc) The film is not my favorite but I can understand why it is so loved.

A movie that borders on the ridiculous but is never stretched. The story of losing humanity and love to the idiot box is shown in this movie. The movie's truth still shines. We are slaves to the gods of the market place and if the gods aren't happy then people die.

I wish I could have enjoyed this movie more. The writers never made clear why certain characters were in the movie except as a plot device to get to the fountain of youth and it felt a bit contrived - like the missionary or the minstrel. There are immensely talented actors in the movie and made the terrible story bearable

There is one part I have criticism for but I am thrilled to death I got to see Waltz in another movie. He is so sympathetic as a character but you FEAR him- and for good reason.

Both Buster Keaton and Earnest Torrance gave a unforgettable performance. They played beautifully together as a father and son. Torrance is unsure his son is the man he hoped he should be, dandy Keaton unsure he can live up to his father's expectations and is dragged along. When his father's livelihood and freedom are threatened, the son is forced to prove himself to his father, his love and her father. Great story and plenty of laughs and thrills!

I always cry at the ending. It's a movie that is sentimental and rewards the faith of those who think there is a little more to their dreams. Yes, what this guy does is crazy and stupid - and anyone is right to criticize Ray- but Ray's reward is that he makes peace with the dreams of the past

The story is sweet and exciting - the stunts are amazing breathtaking and little jokes to break the tension throughout. It's a well constructed movie and worth watching.

It was near four hours but four hours worth spending. I was surprised at how much I loved it and hate myself for avoiding it for so long. From now on I will definitely watch more classics.
