@Knaldskalle There is one more difference: the top 250 only counts votes from "regular voters," and the top 1000 counts all voters. So you could calculate them yourself, and get a list very much like the top 250, but it would still technically be a different list. Your list would put more weight behind people who create accounts just to rate a movie a 10 or a 1.
@tippaty Maybe the very final scene is a little weak, but at that point I was still in awe at the beauty/genius of the Never Gonna Dance number. That song has to be one of the best scenes I've seen in a film.
My #1 favorite movie. This movie touches me deeply every time I watch it. The part where Dan plays his guitar at full volume hoping someone across the valley can hear it and relate to it sums up life pretty well I think.

@amavel I'm not sure if your post was a joke, but the Creationist article you're referencing:http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080921/commentary/809219997
was completely satire. He explains this in the following blog post:

Yes, Johnny_Greeley, I agree. I have the list in the order he published the essays, so I'm going to send it to the website.Movie comment on Gates of Heaven
