Absolutely fantastic experience for an MCU and long-time Marvel fan. I do think the main antagonist was quite weak, like unusually so, and we juuust about had another skybeam scenario, but narrowly avoided it. My theater was a bit too loud but the movie itself was amazing. I haven't laughed so much in years, well except for when rewatching Deadpool 1 and 2 through some youtubers earlier today as warmup, I suppose.
I had a really great time. If you're a sucker for the meta stuff, cameos, and references, you'll have a great time too, imo.
I don't normally dislike characters in movies, as I usually get invested enough to not care about stupid decisions and logic that would never work in real life, but man, this movie was something else. Every character is beyond shitty and annoying, and I genuinely feel like I just wasted my time watching this. I can't think of a si gle redeeming factor and I just so incredibly rarely feel that way.
I liked it well enough, probably a 4/5. But it's fascinating to me how almost 3 hours can feel so rushed. Many things were happening too fast and too easy. Paul's mom needed about 2 scenes to become Mother Mary to his Jesus. It's almost as if they could predict the future.
Not worth the hype for me. Odd music choices, weird camera angles, unexplained mysteries, REALLY annoying child actors (good job if intentional). The good things are few and far between, sadly.
Septic tank plumber finds himself in a tight spot and suddenly uses his inner MacGyver out of nowhere. Not super far off Nobody but without the explicit secret agent hitman undertone. Not great, not terrible.
Somewhat cute message but overall I couldn't stand it, took several days for me to muster up the energy to finish it. The final act was beyond stupid, even if it was needed for the characters to come full circle.
I apparently watched the original Lynch Dune in 2012, according to my notes on this site, but I have zero recollection of ever doing that. So I watched the extended version of it today and had the worst time in years, not gonna lie. It had good parts in it, but most of it was just straight up awful and off-putting to me.
Then I watched this new version straight after and had a lovely time. It had bad parts in it, but most of it was just straight up awesome and pleasurable to me.
First time watcher just now. Passable is indeed accurate. A very poor man's Scream. Most characters here deserved to die and had no positive character traits whatsoever. Main cast is unusually dislikeable and that's saying a lot.
Edit: Just read the the Scream screenplay and this was written by the same person. That's insane.
My boomer parents didn't like it but my sis and I did. Not sure what that says about it or us.
Dad wondered why Craig ("Bond" as dad refers to him as and probably always will) did the weird voice. And mom thought it a sad shame that he had stooped to such a low level that he would do such trash films.
Wow, I had absolutely no idea about Hardy's performance in this until now after when I read the comments here. Not the greatest movie ever by any means, but that revelation will stay with me for some time.
Alright somewhat braindead action, pretty forgettable. The psychopath angle was way too on the nose, especially with the dramatic eye zooms on the widened pupils, as if that only happens to psychopaths when they get triggered or something xD Come on.
Mickey Rourke looks distractingly a lot like Bruce Willis in this one for some reason xD Decent movie, not sure why it's in the mediocre list here:
