I also wonder whether there exists another Bataille de neige. I tried to do some research. I found the Alice Guy film listedas a 1900 movie on Alice Guy's French wikipedia page, and some other french websites.
But there are some things that make supect the two movies are one and the same:
This site says the dating of Guy's film is imprecise

According to the French wikipedia page for the Lumiere film, its full title is the same as Guy's.

And on the imdb page of Guy's movie the description reads "A snowball fight outside the Louis Lumiere's factory."
So are they one and the same, if you have seen the 1897 movie could you also check this one?
