The feel-bad movie of the year.

Fuck, I'm so sad.

But at least, I lived to see Zac Efron's real acting showcase, he is absolutely incredible in the film.

I'm still sad.

This is your modern-day Purple Moon (1960), except it’s 100 times more jarring yet, visually encapsulating that it will have you entirely immersed by the first 20 minutes. I believe the wrong way to go about watching Saltburn is to try and put your finger on what it’s trying to say. Forget the message and forget the moral of the story because there probably aren’t any. This one is to be taken in and devoured whole like a beautiful meal so, let it take you where it wants to and surrender to the emotions it evokes from you. Don’t resist.

That’s not to say that the film is unfocused or badly juxtaposed, on the contrary, it depicts class, wealth, and the lack of both in a way that playfully and brutally centers the whole picture around social structure, allowing the characters and the plot to dance around that main theme seductively.

Pay attention to the clever references in the film that can sometimes come clothed as intellectual glib but ultimately connect to a larger theme, one that relates to love, obsession, and Oliver’s relationship to both.

Everything here is roped together and the way the film is shot, along with the soulfully crafted performances, especially that of the very talented Mr. Keoghan, work to hold this eerily magnificent dark trip of a film together. You can truly tell how much of a blast the DOP was having making this.

I truly disliked it and found it dreadfully boring. I think I’m done with Wes Anderson, for good this time.

I am glad that I watched the series before the film because the series turned out to be much more exhilarating than the film. While the film is great and the filming approach and performances are on point, it lacks substance and falls a bit flat, ending up being underwhelming.

On the other hand, the 4-episode series goes much more in-depth, particularly concerning the characters, their lives, and backgrounds. Unlike the film, the series leaves you wanting more.

The series is fantastic.

I will never get the 70M budget behind this mediocre 16-minute film even though I'm a huge Scorsese fan.

I enjoyed this a lot, however, it still has the exact same issue the 2016 version did; the fact that DC just won't let bad guys be bad guys. I'm afraid both DC and Marvel are obsessed with turning anti-heroes into good people.

Other than that, it was 10x better than Suicide Squad!

Disappointed because does Marvel even care how long we've been waiting for this one?

I don't care if it stands as a "good action movie on its own", this is Black Widow! We expected so much more than a good action movie.

Literally, the only mind-blowing thing about this is the fact that I had to watch zionist and war criminal Gal Gadot save Middle Eastern children and talk about how much she hates guns for 129 minutes.

To be entirely fair, though; Pedro Pascal was stellar.

I don’t at all understand IMDB’s rating of this film but it doesn’t matter because it is such a beautiful piece. I fell in love with the characters and their exceptional portrayal of their roles; especially Gemma and Riccardo who broke my heart at least twice. The film succeeded at completely pulling me in as a spectator that I forgot I was looking at a screen altogether and I seriously don’t remember the last time that happened to me, the last time I experienced that marvelous, spiritual cinematic magic that makes you forget you’re watching people act. I am so very thankful the universe decided to send this film my way at exactly the right time when I needed it most.

It’s such a wonderful mystery how Muccino always knows exactly how to elicit an almost certain emotional response in all his films without ever feeling the need to impose or disturb.

If you’re a sucker for warm Italian films that are emotionally charged, and films that carry conversations about love, art, culture, friendship, politics, and the absurdity of life, then Gli Anni Plu Belli is your go-to.

And did I mention how impeccably moving the score is, as well? Very Italian, very Morricone-ish.

This movie is so bad, I watched it only one month ago and now cannot remember a single detail from it and that is something that has NEVER happened to me before.

Goosebumps from start to finish.
The performances are nothing short of ethereal and the work that was put into this shows in every aspect of the show.
Miranda is a goddamn genius.

However, although slavery is mentioned countless times, the show almost doesn't touch upon the matter at all. I mean, there's not one enslaved character in a show that would never have existed if it weren't for that.

Also, the show almost entirely dismisses the Founding Fathers' involvement in reinforcing slavery, which is so unbelievably ludacris.

Okay, I fell in love with Hustlers because first off, you watch it knowing it's, like someone said below, gonna rub some people the wrong way and that, in itself, is a reason to watch it. Definitely a character piece with stellar performances from Wu and Lopez and an anti-hero journey that definitely deserves a nod. Obviously wasn't an Oscar favorite, hence the snub and I think the main reason for that is its non-Oscar ending and plotline, the issue that it doesn't strive to make any moral statements and I think that's exactly where the charm of Hustlers lies.

There's nothing "sweet" about the story except the heightened sense of sisterhood in the film. Nevertheless, the characters have to fall down over and over again and you get to watch them plan for their next comeback every time and dammit if that wasn't enjoyable. The film's portrayal of the capitalist Wall Street men utopia where money was thoughtlessly spent in strip clubs on bare flesh and then some more is nothing less than excellent.

I get why Hollywood still doesn't respect J-Lo as a serious actress and I think that's highly unfair because she most definitely kicked-ass in her role as Ramona. As for Constance Wu, for someone who hated watching her in Fresh off the Boat, I gotta say she completely made this her own. Such fine performances.

This wasn't bad at all! This film is so much fun and definitely deserves more than a 6.1 although some aspects (Storyline, mainly) could've definitely been dealt with better, meaning this film had the potential to really boom.

The characters are certainly interesting and exciting, they all stand out (Black Canary was it for me). However, once again, Harley Quinn stole the show. I think Margot Robbie is a superb actor who was born to play Harley.

I feel like the pre-production of this film went something like this:

-Hey, let's give Gilcrest to Bradley Cooper!

-I like that, and I feel like Emma Stone would make a great Ng!

-I like where you're going aND THAT JUST GAVE ME THE DOPEST FUCKING IDEA!

-Yeah?

-LET'S MAKE IT ALL FAMOUS MOVIE PEOPLE!

-Whaaa?

-Hear me out! hear me out! W H A T if we get Murray on board?

-As in Bill??

-A S I N MUTHURFUCKIN B I L L.

-What? Well...how about we also get Rachel McAdams?

-YASS, bITcH

-...Hmm, Alec Baldwin?

-Dunn.

-John Karsinski!

-Who dat?

-You know, Jim? from The Office?

-...

-Emily Blunt's husband.

-Ow! Owkay! Yes, also dunn.

-Let's shoot it in Hawaii!

-Yes but why?

-It looks authentic

-...

-People think it's romantic and the beer there tastes like you've seen the face of God?

-WE'LL SHOOT IT IN HAWAII AND CALL IT "ALOHA"

-Makes perfect sense. What about the rest of the movie?

-Oww, don't worry about that now! #Never

The Virgin Suicides is the film that made Coppola take the decision to become a director. It
happened that Coppola read the book and quote “Fell in love with it”. She then heard a movie
was going to be made out of it and was secretly wishing the filmmakers would do it in a certain
way as the film was very close to her heart. So, she decided to write her own adaptation of the
book. She wrote a screenplay just for fun and then somehow convinced the producers to take a
look at it, stated Coppola in a Youtube interview. After that, the producers were astonished by
Coppola’s talent and decided to let her direct the movie. The Virgin Suicides is a dark drama
about five beautiful sisters who live in an American neighborhood to parents that value religion,
strictness and obedience too much resulting in unthinkable disasters and tragedies. The film portrays the oppression of girls in religious America and centers on teenage suicide.

The film was moderately successful commercial wise but, it was definitely a start as to what the
audience should expect from Coppola in the future. It was basically an introduction to her style
and her way of movie making.

I was so scared of watching this because I didn't want anything to tarnish Streisand's version of the film for me. Now, I'm so damn glad that I decided to watch it because I truly fell in love with it. Lady Gaga's acting is phenomenal in this, it's hard to imagine that this is her first film role. Bradley Cooper can sing! and this is easily his best film role to date. And the chemistry between the two stars is unquestionably present, so present that you'll instantly find yourself so immersed in the events of the film and its wonderfully built ambiance. i never really liked Bradley Cooper, but now I have so much respect for his artistry and craft. What an impeccable first directional debut!

I personally believe that the message in The Graduate is that it is never too late to follow your heart and go after what you want regardless of your age. The film leaves one believing that the young really do have something to teach their elders and that is; the pattern CAN be broken. “In this film, a young college graduate rejects a hypocritical society and the traditional values of his parents--and the promise of a career in "plastics"--and finds salvation in love.”

The thing about The Graduate is that the young audience who formed the biggest sector of moviegoers back then in the 60s and the 70s in The United States, could relate to the characters of Ben and Elaine in a lot of ways, example: wanting to break away and break free, not wanting to end up like their parents, not wanting to get married to someone they don’t love just because society says so. And so Elaine and Ben created a new definition for the word “hero”. “The rejection of upper-middle-class values had a special appeal for upper-middle-class college students. The inarticulate Benjamin became a romantic hero for the audience to project onto. The movie functioned as a psychodrama: the graduate stood for truth; the older people stood for sham and for corrupt sexuality. And this "generation-gap" view of youth and age entered the national bloodstream; many moviegoers went to see the picture over and over again.” States American film critic; Pauline Kael.

Something that is really noticeable in this film as well is that it captures a certain authenticity, grittiness, and spirit of the 1960s. “The Graduate draws more directly on the 1960s culture of youthful alienation. The target is not banks and law-enforcement officers, but the consumer-oriented world of 1960s suburbia”.

In my opinion, The Graduate is a truly great film that is masterfully directed, acted and edited. Most importantly, The Graduate is a true coming of age film that has changed the perspective of moviegoers in regards to young adults forever.

Came in expecting a sappy high school drama but I'm so glad that's entirely untrue. I love how real this is, it took me back to the time I was 17 and feeling like the most annoying kid in the world. This just felt so relatable and raw.

Such a beautifully executed film.
I was pulled in during the very first minutes and after I was done watching, the film so mesmerizingly, lingered with me.
Timothee's spontaneity and that exquisite, fresh acting talent, along with Elio's innocence and curiosity just did it for me. It was all about Elio for me. I just couldn't get enough of his character.
The whole recipe felt just right.
That beautiful soundtrack that generates this strange, even eerie calmness within oneself.
The sensuality of the scenes, down to their tiniest details.
The location that'll take you back to films like Nuovo Cinema Paradiso.
The pace was perfect, I didn't at all find the film "slow moving" like some said.
And lastly, the closing credits. The cherry on top.
It must've helped that the film was shot in sequence, as well.
I am IN LOVE with this film.
