I don't think the movie was THAT good. It's not a bad movie, but it's still very typical. Overcoming the odds and showing yourself in the end? Yeah, it's inspirational, but so is Remember the Titans, Stand and Deliver, and Soul Surfer. I won't deny that the acting in the movie was great, especially from Geoffrey Rush. He was the most entertaining person in the movie. I won't deny that it does have touching moments. What I will deny is that it is the Best Picture of 2010. The Social Network, Inception, Black Swan, and Toy Story 3 were better than this one in my opinion. There were much more dynamic parts in these four movies.

The scariest non-horror film ever.

the first film that comes to mind when I explain the term "underrated". The case was truly interesting, but the storytelling was just great. The movie shifted between three narrators, each one losing a bit of their life to the case only to get crushed when their results backfire. Good movie. Definitely worth watching.

actually it's nothing like Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump somehow became involved with different periods of the late twentieth century that were crucial to pop culture, such as the Vietnam War, protests, running craze, etc. Benjamin Button grew up during certain parts of early twentieth century but wasn't too involved. The love interests were different and had different motivations. Just because a character goes through a large amount of time with some reflection of the periods doesn't mean it's like Forrest Gump. If anything, Forrest Gump is about how a person can do so much with the little that he has. Benjamin Button is about how life is defined by moments, not time or age.

If anything, I say The King's Speech is more overrated than The Social Network. The King's Speech has a typical story (told almost exactly like The Blind Side, btw), and apparently it follows the formula for "Best Picture Oscar".

What I have noticed is that those who cry "overrated" never really go into detail as to HOW it is overrated, and those who do say "because it's about Facebook". Those who did like it actually explain why they like it.

Everyone says "overrated", but I don't. I love this movie. I watched it over and over, and it still fascinates me how much I get out of it. Also, I find it interesting how a lot of people who cry "overrated" are the same people who say "Inception" was the best of 2010.
