To this day, I can't look at a blood pressure kiosk without smiling. You may have to watch the extended cut "Ultimate Edition" (longer than the Director's Cut) to get my meaning.
Just saw this on youtube. Been meaning to see this for a while. These guys couldn't have taken more liberties. I think it's a rule that people writing Highlander can't see any previous Highlander, like a sequestered jury. When I heard the Highlander franchise was jumping on the anime bandwagon I had hope. Thanks for letting me down again Holly Wood, or Japan, or Scotland, whoever. I haven't been this disappointed since I saw the last episode of Highlander The Raven and beat Highlander The Last of the MacLeods on Atari Jaguar CD (that was a crappy weekend). Also, needs more Queen.
I'm not really a rom com person but I'll watch anything with JG. I hate how were supposed to think Janeane Garofalo isn't drop dead gorgeous in this film.
. Even next to Uma Thurman (who was also great in this), Garofalo is too hot for the audience to see as this ugly duckling who guys won't hold the door or elevator for. I wanted to throw something at the screen when Ben Chaplin looks at Uma and says "Your dumb and beautiful" and looks at Janeane and says "and your smart and..." AND WHAT? .
Loved Samantha Mathis in Pump Up The Volume, but the cast wasn't the problem of part 1. The problem is Atlas Shrugged is a bad right wing propaganda book made into bad right wing propaganda films. Ayn Rand's writing is for people smart enough to read, but not smart enough to think.
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers. Like the book, the film Atlas Shrugged is by no stretch of the imagination right wing propaganda for people who are kinda smart, but not really. Definitely not worthy of a film, let alone a trilogy.
Not a bad movie. I'll watch anything with Sir Thomas Sean Connery, but...
What the Hell kind of ending was that?! Let's end the movie with Kevin's parents blowing up after having survived a house fire. Didn't the firemen see the parents blow up? Connery just winks and he and the rest of the firemen just leave freshly orphaned Kevin with his smoldering parents? Sure they were wankers but WTF? You'd think if the Supreme Being could bring back the dwarf that got smashed, oh well whatever.

Innovative stuff. It’s estimated that 90% of all film shot before 1930 is lost. It’s cool this 120 year old film survives.
