When oh when will the crew from Documentary Now! get a hold of this?! I already have a sight gag written for them:

The camera pans across a field covered in items donated for the quintuplets, and there in the middle are five tiny pairs of horn-rimmed glasses.

@beasterne
Thanks! As soon as I heard about this archive, I knew it had to be a part of iCheck. I only have 74 checks on it myself, so lots to explore!

Even if the story had been "Mr. Frenhofer and the Ham Sandwich", this is still exactly the type of film where I would expect to see someone wandering around with a minotaur head.

This cartoon is NOT talking about dancing, and it is NOT talking about white people.

I have been searching for this title for years and only found it recently on Plex.TV. Streamed for free (with ads, but no problems), highly recommend the movie and the platform.

Let's give credit where credit is due. Disney stuck with Asian and Asian-American voice actors, made the effort to have a diverse crew, and guess what: everything turned out just fine. No one is sitting around moaning "if only more white men could have been involved!"

They wound up with a very good film in most all respects. The superlatives I'll mention were Awkwafina's voice work, which gave the film a lot of life, and the CGI. Fluid effects like smoke & water have always been some of the most difficult to digitize, and they were a joy to watch here.

Here is my takeaway: Wind -- much like this film -- blows.

A very problematic movie, as Jerry Lewis was an acquired taste even in his heyday. My takeaways were (a) the movie couldn't decide if it was supposed to be set at a high school or a college, (b) I'm guessing about 90% of Love's lines were cribbed from Dean Martin, and (c) this was a tour de force for Edith Head, and is almost worth watching for that alone.

Can they give an Academy Award just for directing children? This film contains the most natural, unaffected performances I've ever seen from kids. They truly dance like no one is watching.

This is a forgotten list. It needs to be updated to at least include "O.J. Made in America" since that is on an official list.

If you're interested in the context of this, I would suggest John Cornwell's book "Hitler's Pope: The Secret History of Pius XII".
