I have not read the books, so I can't say anything about the adaptation. What I can say is: This should have been a TV-series, to flesh out the world... And hopefully make the titular character interesting

I did'nt think that on a day , when I saw both "Back in the Day" and "The Fifth Estate" that this would be the worst movie. Better acting talent though, but a terrible script, a total miss in the cinematogrophy and overall, bad direction.
I thought it could save a little grace, until that last conversation. Thank you movie, I got the message.

Nice small stories, but why are they mashed together, in one movie, when most of them arent really important the main plot? Good acting, where almost everybody gets to show some range, with the strange exception of the women. I can now say I've seen it, but thats all.
What could have been a touching movie, is pretty much ruined by a very one-sided antagonist. Giving her alittle more humane motivation, would have given the movie a stronger message.
This movie was fantastic in almost every sense... Except for one thing.
The symbolism was really well done, but then the director made the protagonists tell us the point. It ruined an otherwise great movie.
PS: It´s funny that some IMDB voters still missed the point.
