This was another I'm adding to my favorites. The pacing and plot pulled me right in, and I loved Sergius. It probably helps that I've got a major crush on von Stroheim.
Nosferatu is clearly a beloved classic, and I do enjoy it every time I watch it. That said, it is so similar to Dracula by Bram Stoker that it's practically the same story with different names thrown in. That honestly the only thing that has ever disappointed me about the movie. Still one I watch at least once a year!
Absolutely phenomenal film. Without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite movie of all time. I watched this movie for the first time a week ago, and I have not stopped thinking about it since. I could almost forgive Griffith for The Birth of a Nation after this. Just utterly brilliant direction, plot, and acting. Mae Marsh is a big favorite of mine, and I just loved her in this. I honestly can't get over the scale and the scope of this film. Truly a feat of cinema for its time.
I really enjoyed this film. The Gish girls are absolutely adorable, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat all the way to the end. It's rare that a movie does that for me! To put a cherry on top, Joseph Schildkraut is absolutely dashing as the Chevalier de Vaudrey. *swoon*
As a fan of documentaries, I loved seeing this early attempt at my favorite genre. I also love silent films, so this was a double whammy! Unfortunately, I am pretty on the fence about this film. I enjoyed some parts, but others I feel could have been left out entirely. I still recommend watching this if you're interested in film history!

Great portrayal of emotion and despair, awful portrayal of race. Like, I wonder if Mickey Rooney got the idea to squint from this movie.Movie comment on Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari

The set design was absolutely fantastic! It was worth watching purely for that reason, though I loved the story as well!Movie comment on Orphans of the Storm
