this movie is really important in the history of cinema beacause it contains the first traces of staging, the Lumière brothers did a 2nd take of the scene (I saw the 2 "movies") so that all employees leave before the end of the film. Scorsese and renders a direct homage in his masterpiece " After hours " .
Lumière brothers did a lot of "documentary" while Edison's company and Meliès did more "fictions". And because there are testimony of the past, they are important in history of mankind.
