So-so. Suffered from a lack of likeable characters and a clash of styles, becoming increasingly 'generic action thriller' as the running time wore on. Great acting, though.
Pretty good - it turns out that Meryl Streep can act! Noticeable gap between her performance and those of some of the smaller parts, which tended to be a bit hammy. The historical aspects were only skimmed over in the briefest way with more focus on Thatcher's current/recent mental state.
Boring. Hackneyed. Too long. Bland characters, especially the children. Lacking in excitement. Didn't sign up for a history lesson. And most of all, they don't speak upper-middle class British-accented English in Paris (yet write all their signs etc. in French).
Fascinating sci-fi concept sadly left woefully under-explored in favour of clunky human drama. Not terrible, but left the cinema feeling short-changed.
Tamer?! Good god, I dread to see what else you've checked! I found it disturbing, harrowing and a little incoherent at times, but a thrilling and uncomfortable watch.
Finally got around to watching this at a MGM Musicals season here in London. Pretty good, especially the performances and 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow', but not really my kind of thing.
Amazing film (harrowing, obviously). It would have been better in Polish, though. Felt distinctly "not right" for them to be speaking in English, and we have these wonderful things called subtitles!
A good evening's entertainment. There's lots of political geek-speak in the first half-hour that's difficult to keep up with, but don't worry, they're just showing off - the details aren't important to the plot. Did anyone else think the point about school- and college kids not being able to vote was kinda obvious? Performances were great all round.

Didn't think much of this. It just seemed flat and formulaic. Not terrible, just not terribly good.Movie comment on The Iron Lady

Solid psychological drama. It's good to see some decent, sympathetic films about mental illness these days (Lars and the Real Girl was another one).Movie comment on The Deep Blue Sea

A bit slow and talky, but with a lovely air of melancholy and honesty. Rachel Weisz had the tone spot-on. Very moving.Movie comment on Snowtown

I agree with mikhaelmt. Started out well, but drooped too far into syruppiness well before the end. Overall, a pleasant film though.Movie comment on The Wizard of Oz

Started very well indeed; gradually deteriorated and Hollywoodificated as it went on.Movie comment on 2001: A Space Odyssey

Great adaptation. Thought the book worked better, but it might just be because I read that first. Ezra Miller is brilliant.Movie comment on Sleeping Beauty
