Subtitles were helpful for me. The Yorkshire accent's a tough one for us Yanks. Great film, made me appreciate The Wall even more.

Fine first effort. Wouldn't call it Horror as Netflix does though.

Memorably awful in the best way. Talk about love/hate.

Preposterous action flick, with doves.

Saw it a second time in 3D - waste of time and money. What looked great the first time looks fake.

The blu-ray transfer finally gets this right after failed attempts and horrible prints. The color filters are still odd, but at least they are timed correctly and don't completely overwhelm the shots.
On a personal note, Mitzi Gaynor had one of the cutest butts I've ever seen.

Lena's line about birthday kisses might be the most romantic thing I've ever heard. Or maybe I just wish someone would say it to me.

You'll probably only see this once, but you should see it. Belies the old adage that anti-war films are difficult to make because war is inherently exciting.

Venetian blinds and jalousies! A lighting director's wet dream. Solid, if melodramatic, noir.

Roth being quirky for quirk's sake took me right out of this.

Lovely film, and I don't usually go for this type of thing.

I was with this until the ending, which I found to be unrealistic. spoiler The performances by Gyllenhall and Pena were excellent, and until the end there was a sense of reality to the whole thing.

I've avoided this for years, afraid it would be schmaltzy, "Don't worry, be happy" bullshit, and now I'm sorry. If the character Chaplin played in The Great Dictator had made it to a concentration camp, this would be the movie. A lovely film that deserves all the praise it's gotten.

There are quite a few High School health and Drivers' Ed films included here. Why?
