I saw it opening weekend with a friend who begged me to see it with her. There were two other people in the theatre with us. I guess right-wing groups can buy all the tickets, but can't fill the seats of this stinker.
It turns out that the one of the producers of this crapfest is under investigation for CP and the real life guy who this movie was about was turfed from the anti-trafficking organization for SAing women he worked with.
I watched this movie as a teen and I didn't like it, but I rewatched it recently and I don't know what I was thinking.
Jackie Brown is an excellent movie; it's vastly underrated, and I don't know why I didn't like it nor why it isn't held in higher regard by everyone else.
Do you know why it's called the "Mandela Effect?" Because people in America are so ignorant and care so little about what goes on in Africa, that when they heard Steve Biko died in prison they mistook him for Nelson Mandela, who was also in prison.
Thus, the so-called "Mandela Effect" is named after a bunch of ignorant people who couldn't tell two imprisoned African anti-apartheid activists apart, and instead of acknowledging their ignorance, they decided they couldn't possibly have been wrong, so we must be living in an alternate reality.
The best parts were the parts set in space. This is one of those movies where reading about the original draft of the script will make you want to see that unmade version instead.
If they played the slow motion scenes at normal speed, this movie would be half the length. If they cut out the completely unnecessary scenes, the movie would be another hour shorter.
