In contrast with Tezelians opinion, I think the rap music was a nice touch. It was meant to look like a joke.
Though in overal I found this movie a bit to long, yet some parts were quite awesome.

I was really into the first hour, but it didn't sustain for the last two thirds.. Christoph Waltz was amazing, and DiCaprio was as good as usual..

Tarantino never disappoints. I love his mix of the modern and the classic. He may be crazy, but he knows how to make masterpieces. Acting was utterly phenomenal. I was so happy to see Leo actually playing a bad guy for once. Christoph Waltz, there are no words to describe his talent. And Jamie Foxx, I was not disappointed with surprisingly. Amazing story, gruesome yet amazingly entertaining because of it.

An interesting but unfortunately long contemplation on the N-word, slavery, revenge, bravery, murder, and man's inhumanity toward man.

Not without some strangely well-placed humour too, but Django Unchained is far from "off the hook". It's final act is a labourious structure that falls out from what should be the film's climax.

Excellent performances by Watz, DeCaprio, L. Jackson and even Tarentino in a cameo appearance. Foxx makes due with the sparse, stylistics-heavy dialogue, but the film is at its best when Waltz is on screen.

Better than the pointless "Inglorious Basterds", not as fun as "Kill Bill", but a solid middle ground between the two.

Hard to give it a better endorsement than dustinjt there. Tarantino killed it again.

About 2 hours and 15 minutes too long.

Also, this TOTALLY deserves to be the number 3 western on IMDb.

I thought this was yet another ridiculous style-over-substance drawn-out poorly edited self indulgent piece of shite from Tarantino. He hasn't made a decent movie since Jackie Brown (which was distinctly average)

Waltz was predictably superb even if the script insisted his character divebomb out of character towards the end, and even DiCaprio played his part well.

I only managed to read 5 or 6 of the previous comments here as I couldn't stomach any more, i'm actually nearly certain Tarantino could film himself taking a dump and people would still be heaping it with praise.

Over-rated.
They ruined the movie when they put rap music with a movie set in the 19th century, what a joke. On the contrary, Christoph Waltz was magnificent.

Very first scene:

”1858, 2 years before the Civil War.”

Jeeeesus. Quentin Tarantino dropped out of high school at age 15. It shows. Only a genius can be this dumb and still win the Academy Award for writing. He's like the Forrest Gump of directors.
