Enjoyable adventure film. Jake Gyllenhaal is pretty charming as Dastan. Mind you, I'm not a gamer so I'm just seeing this as a stand alone film. Just one thing, for a movie about Persians, there's a distanct abundance of caucasians ... would've been nice if they had casted some more indigenous actors.NoamO

Okay, this is one of the movies that really disappointed me when I watched it the first time - due to different expectations. But when I watched it the second time I was able to just perceive it as what it was: An entertaining movie with some action, some beautiful images and some nice effects.I'd played the video game before watching the movie and that was the reason why my expectations were different. In "The Sands of Time" (the game) there were numerous great creatures posessed by this magic sand and they just looked so great... and I'd been looking forward to seeing that on screen (and the great palace, of course). They made something else out of the story though and all these creatures were missing.
But it was a mediocre movie, not bad, not great. I liked the story of the three young brothers and the nice shots of the Persian cities and some of the actors.
