I’m not at all opposed to experimental cinema, but these flashes of flowery fields and discarded circuit boards just gave me a headache. Maybe it’s different when projected, but on my big screen plasma tv it was a harrowing watch.
A visual essay of found footage that demands some attention and perhaps afterthought to be appreciated. If I remember correctly I wasn’t the biggest fan of Rosenblatt’s Human Remains, but I did quite enjoy this little film. Perhaps I’ll rewatch the other one, and dig a little deeper in this director’s films.
Subdued, but skillfully made drama/thriller, about a young girl being kidnapped. This is more on the arty side then about taking the easy route (Suspense! oooeeeh plottwist!), so don't expect a great deal of 'popcorn value' here. If there is such a thing. :)
Sure there are quite a few jump scares, but it got my armhairs up as well, just the same. Pretty good, albeit formulaic horror. Worth the price of admission.
(mod-edit: dead link removed) in English with hardcoded Portuguese subs.
Sien's link is no longer playable (mod-edit: Sien's comment removed), it is still on vk.com, but needs a verification by phonenumber. The movie itself, it's ok, I guess. I definitely liked Greerson's Random Harvest from the year before better, though.
I payed 3.36 euros on Vimeo. Great that this stuff is finally on VOD, but that "for research only" subtitle on a paid for product/piece of art feels very, very wrong.
I couldn't help it, kind of loved it. Without the kind of, actually. And I don't really care that much for musicals, and haven't seen the Disney classic since I saw it as a boy in the cinema. They really made it work. I'm actually impressed.
A scathing indictment of how we let our elderly get lonely. Shot in beautifully poised black and white, this short slowly shows us a day in the life of this older, lonely man, whose been alone since his wife died 9 years earlier. Hard to find online, but the BFI blu-ray might be totally worth it, if the rest of the films on there are as great as this one. Very moving.

The Movie theater in this short was advertising Rocky 2 (1979), with pretty detailed posters.Too bad I can find so little info about this movie. Wonder if all of this was actually shot in the nineties.
