I contemplated what I would rate this. After a while I realized that any iota of redemptive value this might have still doesn't justify its existence: 1/10.
I went to see this in theaters but pretty much slept through the entire thing. I should try watching it again sometime because I basically remember nothing.
A vaguely Chaplin-esque picture which serves better as a drama than a comedy--- in my opinion--- insofar as it is more emotionally provocative than it is funny. The sets, of course, are beautiful as well, which is typical of Frank Capra.
