SPOILERS AHEAD

At the beginning it was great. I thought it was gonna be a claustrophobic thriller/horror film following the line of others like Cube, Panic Room or even Das Boot. But in the middle of the movie, when they escape, it changed completely. By the end you realize it was more a family struggle, children plasticity, mother issues, society adaptation and all-that-stuff kind of film with, of course, a nice happy ending. You know, things that can get you an Oscar for.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the movie, but I got the feeling that if they would had escaped later on, the film would have been better. That way your main focus would be on elements in captivity and not in freedom, which is certainly harder to swallow, but in my opinion, more rewarding too. You care more about Robinson Crusoe when he is on the island, than what happens to him when he leaves.

Finally a documentary on food (and much more) that makes you think instead of telling you what to think.

@Dieguito Are you calling Mr. Wilder romantic comedies with Marilyn pathetic? Without trying to be insulting, keep that adjective for your comment, please.

It is indeed a very good movie, but the antisemitism ingredient of the case wasn't there. Without it, the story is incomplete.

There's no doubt that it's a fantastic list. Many interesting films to check out! My personal missing was The Razor's Edge (1984) http://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/the+razors+edge-1984/

Nancy Allen was married with Brian the Palma for several years. I find quite interesting that in two of the films they did together spoiler.

I don't know if this has been discused before, but wouldn't it be nice to have directors and actors official lists? The personal lists make it easy, but it's different to have an official list.

Great job guys! Keep up the good work.

Jawdroppingly great. An outstanding gem ignored by imdb and icm lists and users. I was lucky enough to meet someone that recommended this fantastic film to me, cause otherwise, I think I would have ignored it has most people do. Go check this out!

I felt that the movie could have been a lot better if the history behind the Korea war would have been more developed. It's not an obligation for every war movie to tell the history behind it; but if the political and historic reasons of the conflict were there the movie would have been a lot more interesting, specially because tensions between the north and the south are still alive today for what i know. It was really melodramatic, yes, but i enjoyed it anyway.

"It addresses something I've always been profoundly interested in – what it means to be English ... it is about bigger things than the war. It takes a longer view of history which was an extraordinarily brave thing for someone to do in 1943, at a time when history seemed to have disintegrated into its most helpless, impossible and unforgivable state."
