A powerful Neo-Western that proves the medium doesn't need to be all shootouts, anti-heroes, and vigilante justice porn. Casting non-actors in the film was perfect. As a director, Chloé Zhao has a great style. I look forward to her next work, and I'll definitely be watching the rest of her pre-'The Rider' filmography.
No matter your political ideology, one cannot help but be awed and inspired by Justice Ginsburg's extraordinary life and the trailblazing path that led her to the highest court in the land. We all owe her a debt of gratitude. Thank you, Justice Ginsburg...
Maybe I'm being verbose, but, to me, watching this film was akin to experiencing a visual representation of a very aesthetically pleasing poem. Very sensual and erotic without being exploitative or hedonistic. Great film.
A very powerful film that does a fine job of highlighting iniquities suffered by many in need due to the unnecessary red tape resulting from bloated bureaucracy. The performances and dialogue seemed to be so grounded in realism that the film is akin to a documentary.
In all honesty, I didn't expect to enjoy this film. At all. All I can say is that it had me hooked from the get-go. I was spellbound to the point of literally losing all track of time. The runtime of nearly 180 minutes ticked by in the blink of an eye. I don't even know what it was that enthralled me to such a degree. Maybe I'll have more answers upon a second or third viewing? 4/4
Just a little while ago, I got about 25-30 minutes into this film, and I was suddenly overcome with an eerie, overwhelming sense of déjà vu. As it turns out, I had already viewed this film and checked it on 01/02/17. This is in no way a negative appraisal of the film or its merits, but needless to say, it obviously didn't leave a huge impression upon me on my first viewing. What does this mean? I haven't a single clue. My memory is actually quite sound, and I've never experienced this with ANY other film. Maybe it just wasn't my cup of tea? I just thought it interesting to share. Cheers, everyone!
That was, well, a very interesting experience. This film has it all. These things include: Dentures, wigs, a fart, petit four bukkake, a Whitney Houston tribute, a Bulgerian kukeri, an X-rated birthday party, and family tension. It made me feel like I was stoned, and I don't even smoke. It was entertaining, to say the least...
I found this hidden gem while channel surfing, and I am really glad that I tuned in. It's a charming, endearing, pleasant, engaging little dramady romcom. Has a lot of heart. Check it out!
I've returned, after 7 years, to update my previous comments about this film. Having recently rewatched this film, I definitely concur with my previous comments. The alternate title of this film shall henceforth be: "Ambien: OTC"

A pretty good western with a great ensemble cast. All performances are memorable, but Val Kilmer really is the standout here with his portrayal of Doc Holliday. I recommend it.

Bryan Cranston's performance in this film is outstanding. At the very least, it's deserving of a 'Best Supporting Actor' nomination, imho.Movie comment on I, Daniel Blake
