No one would give one single fuck about this movie, if they wouldn't have slapped STAR WARS right beneath it. If this is the direction we're going now, my high hopes after TFA are gone. TFA is by far not a perfect movie and people will probably forever fight about it like it has been the case with the prequels for over a decade now.
Yes, Rogue One has really nice looking action scenes but story wise wouldn't be able to stand on its own. CHARACTERS were always the key to a successful (not in revenues) Star Wars movie. Even though I despise the prequels for what they've done to the SWU, they at least had CHARACTERS you gave a shit about.
I like to see Rogue One as an experiment for future stand alone films to come. Maybe they'll do something different each time. I very much hope so, because now we're two movies in the Disney era and I've never been less excited for future Star Wars films.
You can argue as much as you want, that the turtles never were to be taken too seriously (at least the movie adaptations and the cartoon series) or that this was created for new and/or younger viewers. I thought this movie to be one of the worst i've seen in a long long time.
A horrible origin story that destroys any possible emotional bonding you might be having with the turtles fighting the shredder and actors that could not have been casted worse.
Yeah, the 1990s movie probably is cheesy and lots of folks loving it for the sake of good memories. But then again you can feel that someone sat there and actually put a lot of heart in it, the fighting scenes were great, the turtles costumes look still awesome to this date imho.
I don't want to discuss the impact that all this cgi-crap nowadays have on films, but thats still the biggest flaw for me. Nothing real, dull actors and a huge waste of time.
Still i know that the actual target audience might just like most of it, but they did no favor at all for anyone who grew up loving these heroes in a halfshell.
the first movie was great. 2nd pretty mediocre, i was disappointed. and this here was just boring. i agree cyphax about turining pinhead into an usual bad guy.
well... i'm not going to watch more of the series.
i had to change my pants after the boat scene at the end :)
by the way, this would have been a great ending if the film would have stopped right there!
AWESOME! HILARIOUS! i really couldn't stop laughing ... this piece of film is sooo full of great trash moments, i can hardly find words for it. i even think of making this one of my all time favorites... and my favorites actually are unchangeable... need to oversleep this one night
but really, if you have the possibility, watch it immediately ;)
the cast here was still way better than in batman and robin.
i really like the danny elfman theme, doubtless THE batman theme, but i like the elliot goldenthal version also very much
