I agree with Minamu. It's falls within the same category as SAW, Hostel and The Cube, just with better production and more kids (aka cinema) friendly. A pretty decent movie, probably would've had a lot of fun watching this with a group of friends.

Dette er den verste norske filmen jeg har sett på årevis. Kanskje en av de verste jeg noen gang har sett. Ikke under noen omstendighet vurder å se denne om du har andre alternativer.

For the last five years, I've just had this feeling that for some reason or another, this wouldn't speak to me. I always wanted to see it, but I never found the right time, and whenever it would come up, I told myself to do it another time because it felt like I would end up disappointed because of all the hype around it.

It's funny how your gut feeling can be so right. Sure, it's a great move. Sure it's great acting. Sure, it's great cinematography. Sure, it's great sound editing. It's an overall pretty good movie, but the story and character development just never connected with me. It's just a psychological drama that doesn't pushes the inner conflict far enough, and given that this isn't a biopic, there's no incentive for me to care, because why would I when the lead has no character development besides drumming faster, bloodier and sweatier? There are better dramas out there. But I like jazz though, so that's nice.

Meh. If you haven't seen it by now, just get it over with it. Or don't. If your gut feeling keeps telling you that this might not be for you, maybe switch over to the series section of Netflix instead.

I felt every minute of this movie. What really made it connect for me was that it felt real, they did an amazing job portraying the atmosphere and the emotions, making it possible for the viewer to feel everything. Most movies feel like just that, movies, but this was like witnessing or experiencing a real summer in Elio's life.

The movie is everything it sought out to be and more. It's nothing short of amazing, and I strongly recommend this to everyone. Prepare to shed a tear or two, because it's one of the most touching movies I've seen in a very long time!

You know you're not expecting masterpiece, so no need to pretend it has to be a masterpiece. You get exactly what you go in for, nothing more, nothing less. Perfectly enjoyable for what it is!

Pretty average-to-bad thriller where everything seemingly happen for no apparent reason. This is the type of movie you put on when you still want to talk with your friends, because you're not going to miss much but not paying attention every single second as there are only a handful of things that actually matters in this movie.

Surprisingly entertaining. It's not the best movie I've seen, there are certainly better movies covering most of the topics in this one, but overall I wasn't too disappointed and it had me entertained.

A lot of gold, fake looking flames, and so much awkward running and jumping. All unnatural dialogues. How the box office was higher than the budget is beyond me.

As an average viewer with no expectations going into this; This was a perfectly fine movie to watch for entertainment purposes only. The acting wasn't superb, neither was the storyline, videography or editing (the list goes on), but I wasn't bored (quite the opposite), and at the end, I didn't feel like I wasted time on this.

Yes, this could have achieved way more than it did, but if you watch this without having any expectations, just looking for a cool movie to watch while chilling alone or with friends, go for it, it's entertaining.

I can't find the words I'm looking for, so I'm just gonna put it like this: If you're dying to know how it ends, ask someone to spoil it for you so you can imagine how it is, cause this is far worse than your imagination after watching Part 1.

I don't get people bashing on this (or other simple romantic comedies) at all. What do people honestly expect? By the time you're entering a place like this, you probably do know that these types of movies are repetitive and simple, and with an average and predictable plot.

With that said, it is one of the better comedies I have seen in a long time. Nothing too special, and not ground breaking in any way, but it was funny, I liked the characters, and although the ending was oh so predictable, I felt a sense of joy seeing how things turned out. Not for movienights where you want to be blown away, but if you want cheap fun and some laughs, go for it, this was a good comedy.

Surprisingly good being a cheesy comedy with a rather mediocre plot line. You understand quickly where it's going, and with few surprises, it's easy to follow the story. I found most of the funnier part of the movie to be on spot, but the lack of originality put it back some. Overall I'd say this is a decent 6.5/10, but perfect for those moments you just want to sit back and relax with something enjoyable.

When it first started, I prepared myself to cry. It had so much potential, and I liked the movie, but it never got to me all the way. A little too predictable.

The characters were interesting, and now I want to read the book. The picture was pretty sweet. The dialogue was okay. It made me let out about 4 teardrops, but something was missing for me to let it all out.

I paused halfway through to talk to a friend of mine, and mentioned that I often like movies with Tom Hanks, but that I seldom find him that good. Now I've found it. In this purely amazing movie, how can a man like himself show so little emotion? Sure, his voice and movement is on spot, but the face is just not there. And for that, which is a huge bummer, it didn't reach it full potential. Close, but not all the way.

Recently I have watched Prisoners, Jagten and A Beautiful Mind. Safe to say this movie was completely perfect for my brain, I really needed this break from movies that are actually good. I wasn't too bored either, but it's sad to see potentially good stories being used for things like this.

This is one of a kind. It's one of those movies where I get so drawn into the story that when someone comes along and leave again, I wan't to know eveything that happened to them as well. One of those movies that could go on and on for hours without being bored.

The acting was superb for most of the movie. Ellar Coltrane had a period where he was so bad at acting I don't know how to explain it, but that just made it so much more real.

I don't know how a movie without a clear storyline managed to get me so drawn into it, but I think the fact that it's just life as it is made it interesting. We follow this one guy, and we get to know him, his family, their problems and everything around them, and it's just what it is.

I appreciate the efforts, and I shall be the first to acknowledge the fact that this is a good movie. I just completely disliked it. Too much big guns-action and emotionless drama. Screaming isn't the same as showing emotion. But looking away from my personal taste, this is probably a 7-8/10.

This is probably the most nervewrecking movie I have seen in 2014. It's a sadly beautiful depiction of manipulation and psychological violence. It perfectly punches the media and the people in the face with their own blindness. And I honestly don't think people understand that behind the story, there's a message (intended or not, I've spent over two hours with that flashing in my face) for them.

The movie in itself is not perfect. Too many moments were obvious for my liking. It's like they forgot where they left off and where they were going, and filled in those minutes with something dramatic.

The acting is superb, and nothing less. Pike and Affleck both played their roles to perfection, and the rest of the cast fill in what's missing. I was sickened by Amy, and I felt the frustration Nick had to experience.

The soundtrack had a creepy Sci-fi feeling to it at some points, and it just messed with my head like it's supposed to do. The picture was almost too beautiful, which made it even more disturbing, because when everything went down south, it still looked good. Close to perfection, very close.

Don't let the IMDb rating fool you (currently 9.2), this is not a 9+ movie. With that said, it's one hilarious piece of comedy which made me laugh hysterically at some points.

Franco and Rogen are really good, but I have seem them in better roles before. Some parts are funny, but there are some serious moments where they fail to actually make it serious enough, and it's not really anything, to be honest.

One thing that makes this so funny is the way they have protrayed most of the North Koreans. It's way over the top, and the only thing I felt was on point was their way of "blindly" (as a results of decades of propaganda) following the Supreme Leader.

Overall, this is a decent 7/10 comedy.

I'm sad I didn't like this very much, because the story is quite interesting, and the acting is superb. I cannot point to anywhere where I felt that the movie was bad, but unfortunately it didn't manage to get me sucked into it.

A strong 8/10.

This is why JLaw is one of the better (best?) young actresses today. She did an amazing performance, and led us through the movie flawlessly.

It's somewhat true what Wargasm stated:
quote:
This is one of those movies that get overrated because there is nothing wrong with it.

Although I found the movie really interesting, I think you need to like a certain type of slow movies to enjoy this, but again, there is nothing wrong with this movie.

I know nothing about these communities, but watching how everything was portraited, I felt somewhat sick. It kinda felt like watching someone being punched, over and over again, without being able to turn around, and I guess that is the point.

In a world of big-budget movies with a lot of glamour and unrealistic characters and storylines comes Like Crazy. It's beautiful depiction of a real-life scenario where a young couple endures problems too big to handle at such a young age, yet they work threir way through it, in some way or another.

I absolutely loved this, yet it was terrifying to watch, as this is what the world gives us if we are unlucky/lucky enough to find love in places where you have to work around laws to make it work. I couldn't help to think about all the couples who have been in this mess, and without having first-hand experiences with this, as an outsider, it seemed to be a well told story.

The acting, picture, sound and plot all worked well together. There are some flaws and errors coming and going, but I was so into the story it didn't bother me. The end was absolutely magnificent, spoiler Because of this, I will say it's respectable 9/10.

Although I didn't find the story too interesting, you don't really need anything else than this acting, plot and picture, and that alone makes it a pleasant experience. Didn't expect much, and it's no favorite of mine, but a good 7.5-8/10 is well deserved by this one.

This movie is very different from the two first in the series, and at some points, it actually felt like a completely new story. I guess that many die-hard fans will dislike this, but for a guy who is older than their target group for the first movies, this was absolutely excellent. I have previously stated that the first and second movies are very childish, and now they finally took it a step further and grew up.

Overall a good movie, the cinematography, plot, acting and soundtrack is surprisingly good. spoiler

It is a long and relatively slow movie, but it does what it is made to do; fill us in on the story and build up the excitement for Part 2. If you don't have any interest in the series, wait until the last one comes out, so you can watch them together. If you like the series, go ahead, but it will be a long year to wait, it ends right before things are going to happen.

Yes, there are many unrealistic and "what" things going on, spoiler but this is not meant to be a realistic story. It's another sci-fi/action/drama depicting a dystopian society which would not be realistic by any means, of course the heroes will be "too good", and certain parts will be a bit over the top, but that is what it is, and we should take it as such.
As for the discussion on if they could have finished it in one part; they could, but I believe that the result would have been mediocre at best. There is a lot going on despite being a slow movie, but this will probably be the point where a lot of people fall off due to the lack of action.
