Yet another boring Flemish melodrama. The movie is almost exclusively composed of scenes with people yelling, crying or fighting, sometimes all at once. The filmmaker constantly tries so hard to shock the audience but it never works because the movie is so boring and every character is unlikable. The movie is filled with random, pointless scenes and pretty much the whole runtime you're thinking "Get on with it!".

The ending was very obvious and easy to predict. Once again the filmmaker tries to shock you but it just ends up being unintentionally funny.

The message of the film seems to be that no matter how much help you give them, problem children in an institution will never overcome their problems and always remain/turn into giant assholes, rapists and murderers. Which seems pretty odd as a message in an award bait film, or just any film.

Flemish people seem to be obsessed with making a genre of film that they're just absolutely terrible at. A drama just doesn't work if every scene is about unlikable people being miserable. Get your fucking head checked Flanders!

It's basically two movies (one about a virus infecting a virtual world and one about a teen romance) fighting for screen time. Unfortunately the part that wins out is the virtual world story, which end up being incredibly uninteresting. The romance story, while compelling, as a result of this ends up woefully underdeveloped.

While it is about a billion times better than Wil, another Flemish movie that came out a few weeks before this, Het Smelt still isn't a very good film. It's so full of melodrama and miserable people that it's more annoying than interesting.

The best part of the film is definitely the performance of Rosa Marchant, who plays young Eva. The rest of the film is unfortunately not very impressive. All the scenes are boringly shot, without any style or personality, and the script could have used a couple of rewrites. Even the casting of Rosa Marchant is both a positive and a negative. While her performance is very good, her character is supposed to look ugly and boyish, and Rosa is neither of these. In the film they try to remedy this by giving her a short haircut, but she still just looks like a normal girl. There also is no in-universe reason why she would have short hair, because her character wants to be more typically feminine. So why would she choose to cut her hair short? It's also not because of her parents, because her sister is allowed to have long hair.

Anyway, the movie is about Eva and her two friends Tim and Laurens. They are called the three musketeers by some because of how close they supposedly are. But when this idea is first conveyed to the audience, Tim isn't in the scene, instead Eva's sister is. So you think she's the third part of their trifecta. We also never see Eva, Tim and Laurens really getting along as friends. Early on in the film, they're swimming in a pool together but in all the scenes after that, the two boys just seem very annoyed that Eva's hanging around them and she looks miserable all the time. When the terrible thing at the end of the movie happens and their friendship obviously dissolves because of this, you just sit there wondering why they were ever friends in the first place.

The film starts and ends with Eva as an adult, with some more scenes sprinkled throughout. However, most of these scenes felt kinda pointless and several plotlines remain unresolved. The ending of the movie that ties in with the riddle was also really obvious, because the riddle was laughably easy and I haven't even read the book.

This is a Flemish drama, so all the scenes must be filled with miserable people and melodrama. There can never be a humorous or lighthearted moment, and I'm really getting sick of this shit. The only two genres of film Flanders can produce are drama and comedy, and they're terrible at both.

Interestingly enough, there were two instances in this film where they almost had some really effective dark humour if it was handled a little differently. I'm talking of course about the killing of the horse and a child drowning in literal shit.

"sigh" This movie isn't awful. However, it isn't particularly good and still a complete waste of my time and life.

I guess 75 billion boring exorcist movies wasn't enough, so Blumhouse gives us another one to throw on the pile. However, this one is set in the official exorcist cinematic universe and deletes the pretty good Exorcist III from the timeline to stink up its place.

There is nothing in this movie that we haven't seen 75 billion times. It's always the same combination of stupid crap about religion, boring filler scenes, bad characters and ineffective horror sequences. I really feel like absolutely nothing happened in this movie. Two girls that we barely get to know get possessed, then nothing happens for 90 minutes and it's over. I don't even understand what we were supposed to be scared of. That a bunch of stupid religious people may die? Good riddance.

An extremely hard watch because of how boring it is. Most of the movie just feels like a bunch of disconnected scenes that go nowhere. None of the characters get developed and all the actors give the same terrible "elementary school play" performance. The germans all come over like cartoon characters and the Belgians all come across like retarded people. For some reason the filmmaker expects us to care about a romance between two main characters. But both characters have no personality and no chemistry together. In their first scene together, they don't get along. In their second scene they're talking about a chicken. And in their third scene they're making out. Wow such great romance, this shit is nearly as good as Attack of the Clones. The ending of the film was unintentionally hilarious and the only time I felt any emotion. The entire runtime I just kept thinking "JUST END ALREADY!!", I think it's safe to say I don't recommend the film.

Not necessarily a bad concept, but really bad execution.
The action and plot was awful but Christian Bale's performance was great as usual.

It takes over an hour before anything even happens in this dumpster fire. When something finally does happen, it's not only terrible but also incredibly boring. Even the fps sequence wasn't entertaining.

Nothing in this movie has anything to do with the Doom games except for some name references. I have no idea why this movie cost 60 million dollars, because it looks like shit.

One of the rare biopics that actually tells the story of the person it's based on without changing anything for dramatic effect.

So sad that we lost Al in 1985, just imagine what amazing music he would be making if he was still around today.

Barry learns a lesson at the end and then unlearns it 20 seconds later.
The movie is mostly entertaining but all plotlines and characters are wrapped up unsatisfactorily.

I saw the 1989 animated version one time and really didn't like it so I didn't go into this movie with high expectations. I still don't find it a particularly interesting story but the characters were better developed and I liked the message at the end. The animal side kicks were fun and the chemisty between the two leads was pretty good. However there were still many moments, especially early on, where I got pretty bored.

Overall, I'd say this movie was ok. Kids will like it and it's not painful to sit through as an adult, unlike some kids movies that came out this year.

An excellent movie in its own right and a beautiful closing chapter to the trilogy.

This movie is incredibly stupid, occasionally in an entertaining way but most of the time I was just bored. The plot makes absolutely no sense, there are way too many characters that have nothing to do, the dialog is horrible and most of the action is boring. Dominic Toretto may be the most boring main character in a big movie franchise. The best parts of the movie are the ones with John Cena and even those are dragged down because of some stupid kid.

I can imagine a small child enjoying this movie on the most superficial level but I don't recommend it to anyone else.

The movie has fun moments but the pacing is pretty bad and the characters and plot are mostly uninteresting. I'm also getting pretty tired of Nick Cage's wacky performances, he's kinda turning into johnny Depp in that regard.

Not a bad movie but I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone.

It was good, though not as well done as the remake or as fun as the originals. I really love the 2013 remake and in my opinion that one had horror and gore moments that were way more memorable. It was also pretty funny even if it wasn't as silly as Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness.

This new movie has opening and closing scenes that seem kinda pointless. It also has a child character, so you know she's gonna be fine the whole movie, which deflates some of the tension. The ending with the wood chipper and chainsaw seems awesome on paper but feels kinda botched in execution.

However, a lot of stuff in the movie still works really well. I kinda just expected more I guess. Overall I think it was a pretty good remake of Evil Dead, though I wish they would just have made a sequel to the 2013 film.

Great characters and emotional story. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Now I'll have to check out the director's other films.
