How about Premium Users get their Avatar size increased from its current size(70px) to 125px or a bit more, as long as it doesn't hog server resources.

I'm also in favor of there being a total movies checked user top-list or it can even be weighed in with your official top-list rank to create an overall rank. If not, at least make the number of films seen from top-lists visible in your profile next to the total movies you've seen.

I agree with theMadcapLaughs idea it means I could dream of getting a Plat for Rosenbaum list with 20 or so near impossible to get films..

Here's another idea: auto-generated lists of similar movies.

"Users who favorited [movie x] frequently favorite..."

It could be sorted by fav/check ratio, taking into account only the people who favorited movie x.

Third paragraph should read "Take the 100 Korean Films list for example.". There was a typo >.>

One thing I'd really like:

Redo how awards are allocated. At the moment you can only get a platinum in a list if you watch 100% of the films on that list, gold at 90%, silver at 75% etc. But some films are literally unwatchable as they've been lost quite possibly forever. Instead a better way to do it is that you get bronze if you've watched 50% of the number of films that the number 1 top user on that list has watched, silver if you've watched 75% of the number of films that the number 1 user on that list has watched etc..

Take the Ain't 100 Korean Films list for example. At the moment there are 85 films on that list, and the number 1 top user is chaos314 who has checked 25 films. At the moment chaos314 is the number 1 top user on that list yet doesn't even have the bronze award for it, which I think is a silly way of having things set up. Under my suggested system chaos314 would have platinum as he's the number 1 user on that list. You would get bronze once you've checked 13 movies, silver once you've checked 19 movies, gold once you've checked 23 movies, and then platinum is interesting: if you check exactly 25 movies on the list you get a platinum and chaos314 keeps their platinum, however if you check 26 or more films on the list you get platinum but also chaos314 loses their number 1 position and so loses their platinum.

I think this would be a fairer and more interesting way of handling things. It also means that it is humanly possible to get platinum on any list.

On thing I've always wanted:

Being able to rename the list categories(and perhaps create extra categories) and choose what category the individual lists would be on. This would also make it possible to add personal lists to said categories.

Here's an idea:

Premium users can create their own custom group ranking lists, based on any combination of official and unofficial lists.

@sortile9io : The personal lists would in no way contaminate the "serious" lists, and would be held seperately, unless individual users wanted it otherwise. We can already remove lists we aren't interested in.

Ok guys, the new blog post is online, with an important announcement about checks limiting.

Feel free to continue your discussion there ;) Also, keep those great ideas coming!

@Jumping Elephant: The function would mean that shorts and TV-shows wouldn't affect your movie ranking. If every check was "official" people could just watch 1000's of 1-5 minute shorts and be No. 1 in no time.

The list would seperate between full lenght movies (which would get one top user list), Shorts(which would get one top user list), Series(which would get one top user list), etc.

(Indeed I don't even like the idea of winning an extra award when you buy a Premium).
Featured personal lists are fine though.
@Crinderman: The real distinctive feature of iCM is its collection of "official" lists. Isn't it? We should "promote all kinds of movies", that's right, but not through the $.

Another thing I've been meaning to ask.
How about, when opening a list you can instantly see how many users voted on every entry on that list. Like when I open Brief Encounters I can see what the most checked shorts are so I know if they can be found easily. I know it would save me a lot of time going through every entry I haven't seen if there's a YouTube link on there.

I would like new features as well. I also think more people will go Premium if you would offer a monthly subscription option for 3 or 4$.

New Features I would like:

General:
- Edit Function for Comments
- Official Forum
- Report mistakes – Button on pages and lists
- All Standard features
- Please don’t destroy the worth of awards by giving awards for paying customers, or people who post much. I would not like to have these on my shelf. (Or at least let us disable these features on our own)
- Weekly Film-Quiz: The Winner gets a free Pro membership for a month.
- be able to post comments on a user site
- Your Europeans, right? Then let us Europeans pay with Euros!
- Include a Flattr button!
- Sort the top list entries of a movie. “Lawrence of Arabia” has ridiculously many awards. It would be good if you can sort them by IMDB lists, Prizes, etc. on the movies site.

Pro:
- When I look through the movies from friends and neighbors I have not seen I would like to filter the movies by amount of top list entries.

- "List History" which makes it easier to understand the changes the list made recently. I often see a new movie on the 2010s-List and ask myself which one was kicked off. Also great for the "1001 movies you should see" - series.

- Be able to create new lists. (I know your already working on this) But please separate these from the "general" ones. You should not get points for your rating. There would be lists like: "All Episodes of The Simpsons" and people would get like 500 points... If a list is outstanding and useful you can still add it to the canon.
You could also offer to create a new symbol for a list for 10 or 20$. In General the personal lists would have a standard icon, but if the creator pays he will get a custom one.

-Be able to follow Lists. There should be a possibility to follow personal lists you like, so you can check them out like the general ones.

- TV Shows: Make a list for every TV Show. In the list you can sort by seasons and then check every single episode. You should not get points from that, but it would be nice. The Awards should also be separated. "Has seen 25% of all "Lost"-Episodes" or something like that.

- TV Top Lists: If you have seen a TV Show completely you are allowed to check it. You could make lists like "The Best 30 Comedy TV Shows", or something like that.
- App for Smartphone Users
- Statistics: Which movie was checked the most this week?
- Polls about Icons for lists. The Avatar icon for 2010s is quite infamous. ;) You could also do polls like: “Which feature should we include next?”
- Make sites for actors and link their films to it. So you can sort films by actors and check all movies from your favorite actor. Same thing for directors.
- Sub lists. I do not want to have 12 lists from the Academy Award on my display. But if I click on Academy Award I would like to choose a category and then watch the list.
- Sort lists: I prefer some lists more than others. But I always have to click on the register to look at them. I would like to sort the lists the way I want. I do not need the IMDB ones on my first side, but I cannot put those on the last. And I do want them displayed. Just not on the very first side.

There are so many things I would really enjoy. We love you for your idea and power, but do not destroy all this for the money. I am sure there are lots of guys and girls out there that would pay for reasonable improvements. Better still: We would love to.

@Jumping Elephant: I'm one of those last people, so I obviously couldn't disagree more with you. I see no reason why on earth films on lists should count while those who aren't doesn't. The sites tagline is "How many movies have you seen". I see no reason to be so elite. Of course elite can be fun, but why not encourage all movie watching instead.

Crinderman, I don't know about separating them per se (I like the current functionality), but they could at least be "tagged" as such. I sort of like the idea of shorts having the same value as features, but it would be very nice to be able to sort through all the shorts.
