I somehow prefer checking Doubling the Canon films, but this list is epic. I want to check at least half of it in a not so distant future...

Not a huge fan of this sort of list - too narrow.

I think the multiple entry films should have the additional entries moved to the top (since nearly all positions are wrong now) or even better removed with a note in the description.

This is still the list on the site I most want to complete. I really love their 21st Century list to but I only have a few left. The problem with this list is that for the most part the films have left to see are not available on Netflix. The only way I would be able to make more of a dent on this list as it currently stands is to torrent.

I'll post whatever I want, however I want it to be. People who refuse to see the truth deserve my ranting.

Moreover, I started commenting on this TSPDT section simply to criticize this list, not to engage in a personal vendetta with some close-minded individuals. They turned this into a vendetta once again. I only wanted to criticize the list!!!!

Truth be told, I'm commenting on it because I more or less agree with you about the narrow international canon, but I'm disappointed that you're voicing your concerns in such an unnecessarily abrasive form. It's exactly the sort of attitude that makes it easy to dismiss an opinion, whether its valid or not. I don't see how a little cordiality would hurt.

"I wonder what on earth you think you'll accomplish by posting like this."

I'm replying to a post below me. I'm not sure why you're even commenting on a matter that doesn't concern you.

"And if you call someone a fascist for kicking you off an internet forum, you're being spiteful."

I believe in truths and free arguments in any form possible. The fact they kicked me off in the first place is worse than me having spites towards them. As I said, I'm replying to a comment below me (now on a previous page)

"It was in the introduction to the latest edition"

Their neglect towards the 70% of Europe though isn't mentioned in that pamphlet, as per usual, most are only aware of Europe as an Italo-Franco-Germanic plutocracy with glimpses of British-Swedish and Spanish agenda and...nothing more.

If you ever understand and it was your behavior and language and not your opinions that got you kicked, and decide to be nice to everyone I'm sure we'll let you back in."

I am who I am and that will NEVER change. However, I am not that pissed off by the team's ban (you as in you was a generalization, not so an accusation) but pissed off at the general IP ban after probably 1-2 admins / mods realized who I was masked as jamesjoyce. I am willing to keep up with the jamesjoyce pace and contradict no one, just comment on films as I did so when I returned like that but I found it ridiculous that soem fuckers banned my whole IP without giving me a chance.

I'm not the one who has spites, they are. They act as petty fascists and I am not to blame when they insult me like that.

"It's the counties/artists own fault for not getting their product out there! "

Really? How about what the fucking world market wants? The world market according to fucking academics I mean.

Academia can hire more translators to make the unavailable....well, available! It's that fucking simple! But no, I suppose people like you pathetic Crinderman find it more illustrious to block my ICM forum access completely either I'm logged as jimbotender or as jamesjoyce. Seems to me that whether I'm enraged or polite, you don't want me in your little group of academic illiterates, so don't question my well-researched arguments on matters regarding prejudice of certain countries over others!

"I find it odd though that countries like Iran, which is probably the country that's on the worst terms with the west is such a popular movie country, and has several films on this list, when you claim that people only run to their comfort zones." Iran is trendy, just like China, who knows, Romania may become trendy too due to all this New Wave mania but trendiness shouldn't be the key but the pathway to discover EVEN MORE.

Willing to be? You should be believing already since I'm not even the hardcore of cinephiles due to my affair with literature, philosophy, theatre and music and yet, I don't have any prejudice towards anything at all, I consider many of the heavy-hitters equal to EVERYTHING obscure I've watched and loved (of course)

As far as lists go, from Pakistan to Egypt to Peru to Cuba to Finland to Estonia to Romania to Bulgaria, to even Greece and Turkey and Senegal, there aren't that comprehensive lists as opposed to Japan or France or even Canada dammit that will offer valuable information to the TSPDT individuals and I highly doubt half of them would make that cut! It's obvious there'll never be such equality, not even in my primary favorite artistic medium, literature, so I may as well pursue this goal myself for the time being...

On a more positive note, the Rotten Tomatoes vote also made it possible to have a masterpiece like There Will Be Blood in this list.

Actually I'll keep telling you and the likes of you. Nolan is a hack and as long as he'll fool people, I'll keep pissing in the wind.
