I just updated the genre lists I made. The TSPDT spreadsheet changed the genres for some films that stayed on the list, so some movies joined or left these lists below:
THE HOUSE IS BLACK
THE ASCENT
DAS BOOT
AMÉLIE
INLAND EMPIRE
THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN
A SEPARATION
NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN
THE ONLY SON
THE WHITE RIBBON
My 10 favorite films that droped of the list: Read this with a funeral march in mind:
THE UNKNOWN
CRASH
DODSWORTH
HAPPINESS
IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT
DIE NIBELUNGEN: SIEGFRIED
SAVING PRIVATE RYAN
SCARLET STREET
STRAW DOGS
STRAY DOG
I'm down on the update as well, not exactly sure by how much yet as I need to do a final count.
@elephantman - thanks for the link, for some reason the link at They Shoot Pictures keeps bringing me back to the old list but I'm sure they'll sort that soon.
It's a hard list, that's for sure. Many old movies on the list. My reputation of staying awake at 1940 and before movies is very bad ... I prefer the 21st Century list
From the site: "Please note: The results of the 2012 Sight & Sound poll will impact substantially on TSPDT's own 1,000 Greatest Films and 21st Century lists. These lists will be updated later this year, and published online in January 2013."
Most likely January 2013. December 2012 at the VERY earliest. But considering that TSPDT is apparently working on giving their site a complete makeover this year, and that they'll have all of those Sight and Sound ballots to sort through and assimilate into the list along with all the normal work that's put into updating the list. But whenever the next update comes, we can be sure to expect some very significant changes. The new Sight and Sound list should shake things up quite a bit - and this is the first S&S list to come out since TSPDT started compiling this list every year. So they're definitely going to have their work cut out for them.

This update puts me 27 checks back (and maybe more since at least one film (FANTOMAS) is going to be counted as more than one).elephantman

An imdb list to tide you over until this one gets updated: http://www.imdb.com/list/a9LhrX8hZk4/jbbeebe
Last year it was updated late in the month. Like the last week of January, if I remember correctly.Thorkell
So does anyone know when they are going to update the list? It says January on the site but nothing more.I-M-Pulsive
