Great watch. Seems like a wholesome movie, until it escalates at the end. Entertaining film, has a Fargo feel to it
    ryano1076's avatar
A slow burner that truly escalates in the last act. Good acting by the two female leads.

Well it was definitely better than Spiral, but still toward the bottom of the franchise. I wasn't quite sure when this film was supposed to take place on the timeline, sometime after the first one but obviously before the fourth or whenever spoiler. But the traps seemed a little preliminary. Like a couple of them the people clearly did what he asked, but his machine wouldn't count the body liquid quickly enough. Also, spoiler? So it's just another Saw fix, but far from a good one.

I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said here. The MCU is officially garbage after Phase 3. Captain Marvel (movie) was decent and I actually enjoyed Miss Marvel (show), to my surprise. But this film was laughable.

Not what I was expecting at all, but a nice little film.

This was a letdown. No explanation is ever given for what happened, which you can just write off as nuclear war, that's fine, but what about spoiler?? What seemed like a sci-fi plot just got completely abandoned for a Lord of the Flies type drama that sadly didn't reach that level.
    ryano1076's avatar
Very disappointing with an all-star cast.
    ryano1076's avatar
What a complete waste of time. It looked hopeful by the description, but was just too b-level to be enjoyable. It was like someone's home video with half the audio cut out. I think for the lead actress their only requirement was "find hot girl," because her acting was pretty atrocious. Not scary in any way, and the "court case" it was supposed to be for was pretty open-and-shut. An absolute waste of everything.

Really cute time travel rom-com. I was surprised. Well done
    ryano1076's avatar
Pretty entertaining movie with humor throughout and even a little twist toward the end (although once you realize there is going to be a twist, it's pretty obvious what it will be). Worth a watch if you're an Office fan, just for BJ Novak nostalgia.

What an absolute little gem! Hilarious all through the movie, and leaves you with a feel-good sense in your heart. Great casting, Stingray from Cobra Kai steals the show in the final act. What a great time!

This is a really legit horror film! I was just expecting another generic indie flick but it really caught me by surprise. It builds tension great, has some great violence, and has a nice ending to bring it together.
My only criticism would be that spoiler.
Overall a solid horror film. It had me on edge for most of the movie.
    ryano1076's avatar
Ok so this was about as corny as you'd expect. I actually had some decent expectations after seeing the trailer, but it's unintentional horror-comedy. Or maybe intentional, who knows. But not worth the time really, unless you're not sober and want a few cheap laughs.
They did do a good job of setting up the story, though. The opening scene gives a good explanation of why things are the way that they are now.
    ryano1076's avatar
Pretty funny, like an hour-long sketch show. The premise is hilarious, but fell a little flat at the end. Entertaining overall, though.

I somehow made it til now (2023) without seeing this. It's a very cute movie, doesn't take itself too seriously but still has a good overall message. It was cool seeing so many of today's stars as little acting babies with small roles.

A bit of a letdown after an absolutely epic trailer...
    ryano1076's avatar
Absolutely phenomenal. The film sets its time travel rules and sticks to them. Filled with emotion as well, and a great ending. This might have just snuck in to be the best film of 2023.

Pretty decent rape revenge movie, without all the gore of I Spit on Your Grave.
    ryano1076's avatar
This was a greatly acted film and was pretty interesting most of the way through, but then the ending just fell flat. I kept expecting a twist or something big to happen, but it was like you just took a segment of these people's lives and showed it. What was really the point in it all??
    ryano1076's avatar
A lackluster result to a promising concept that just ends up spoiler. I was really hoping for some paranormal or sci-fi instance of some kind. The hook keeps you drawn in throughout the film, but the lack of payoff in the end leads me to rate this one a "skip."

Pretty much a quadruple-sized episode of the show, with cameos from basically everyone who's been on it. I thought the series wrapped pretty well, but this gave it yet another definitive ending, with a happy ending for spoiler to boot.

Overall not much to keep your attention here. A far letdown from the CW series. And Supergirl was completely wasted in this film spoiler.
And just on a personal note, Ezra Miller seems to be a pretty decent actor, but I just can't see past all the bullshit from his personal life. DC really should've just bit the bullet and recast the role after all of his shenanigans. But I guess we're stuck with him now...

Independence Day -> Armageddon -> Star Wars -> Contact -> back to Armageddon

Pretty standard blockbuster disaster movie. If you can suspend ALL belief and logic it might be a fun ride. There were just too many "are you serious" moments to take it seriously. Not to mention the whole subplot with the son was just a complete waste of time..
    ryano1076's avatar
This was actually a pretty good suspense/horror(ish)/mystery movie! Good buildup toward the ending of "is it all in her head or not?". And I wasn't familiar with Abbie Cornish (though she's been in a ton of films), but the whole movie I just kept thinking, damn she is good-looking lol...
